About this listen

Beneath the New Year's Eve fireworks, shy science-nerd Mel and slacker songwriter Sid get pregnant on their first date. This is a tremendously well-written and engaging book which also just so happens to examine abortion, and deftly. When YA literature deals so comprehensively with issues affecting young people without becoming dry or preachy, we're reminded why it continues to set the standard for other genres.
