Beautiful book
Beautiful book. Deeply moving. Started listening in the car with my son and then could not stop. One of Michael Morpurgo’s best. Just beautiful and moving

It was fabulous
Execellent read kept me wanting more and more couldnt put the book down every time I tried I just wanted to read another cbapter. fantastic ending

This is such a moving book
I loved this book. I definitely recommend it. In fact all of Michael Morpurgos books are good. Most of them have a mix of sad and happy which I like. The narrators were also really good.

Fabulous book, couldn't stop listening
Set in the Scilly Isles during WWI. It shows the ignorance of the people with regard to the Germans. The fear of the unknown when a little girl who cannot speak is found on one of the uninhabited islands.

One of the best books I’ve read in 40 years
This is an amazing book. I literally couldn’t put it down. The fact that it’s true is amazing. It made me smile and it made me cry. It made me remember that there are some very very good people in this world.
This is a must read for all ages.

Amazing Story
Listen to the Moon is a war story with a difference, set in 1915 it focuses on an injured girl found on an uninhabited island in the Scillies. Not knowing who she is, or where she has come from, the father and son who find her take her home with them.
It is an amazing story about community, courage , and of love, as they try to unravel the story of 'Lucy Lost' is she a German? A mermaid? And why can't she speak?
This is a story to warm your heart.

Not just for the youngsters
My children are now all grown-up, and I'm still awaiting the arrival of grandchildren, so I have no excuse to buy a book 'for children'. I loved reading Michael Morpurgo books to my youngsters, and I always felt he simply wrote good stories, but although maybe the language used made them easily accessible for a young audience, the books couldn't easily be categorised as 'for children' or 'for adults'.
Listen To The Moon definitely falls into this category - it is simply a wonderful tale of a young girl's life, taking in historical aspects of the First World War, the simple life in the Scilly Isles in the early part of the last century and life-long love. Don't think of it as a 'children's book' or even to try and categorise it at all. Just enjoy it as a wonderful story, well narrated and fully enjoyable.
Told from the perspective of a number of different characters, this is a well-rounded tale, full of great description and a joy to listen to.
