Summary

This audiobook contains proven steps and strategies on how to become a proficient Linux programmer.

Through the course of this audiobook, you’re going to learn strategies to think like a programmer. You’ll learn how to program in Python and Java, as well as how to write scripts for the Linux command line. By the end, you’re going to have a masterful grip on how to write efficient and strong programs.

I’ve been programming for a while, and this audiobook is based on the method that I’ve found to be most effective in teaching people how to program; a programmer isn’t worth anything if he or she doesn’t understand the underlying logic. So in this audiobook, we cover the underlying logic and then examine how it applies to three different important Linux programming platforms.

This audible must be heard by everyone

The book does exactly what it says on the cover, gives the listener and/or reader enough resources to get started. It provides well-detail information that is easy to understand and follow. It is just the right level of systems detail to understand what one is doing while administering Linux and using its many technical features.

I work in IT primarily with Microsoft systems. However, in today's interconnected computer infrastructure Linux is a reality and sometimes I find myself confronted with a Linux command line. This book is such a help, with remembering the proper syntax or command that is needed. It is just the right size so it really does fit in your pocket, because in a world where computers are everywhere, sometimes it isn't easy, possible, or even practical to 'look the answer up online.'

If you like me sometimes need an accurate, concise, and relatively comprehensive Linux reference, this is a lifesaver. The instructor is pretty clear and direct to the point. He did an excellent job of simply teaching practical navigation around the command line interface of Linux. He simply directs you to use the specific commands.

Anyone who wants to learn how to utilize the command line in Linux must listen to this guide. Getting this guide will make you learn things you didn't learn in school. Everything written in this audible makes sense.

Quite informative and easy to grasp

If you want to learn how to use Linux, but don't know where to start, then listen on. Knowing where to start when learning a new skill can be a challenge, especially when the topic seems so vast.

The book was quite informative and easy to grasp, although there were some places I did get stuck in eventually figured it out. I particularly liked the sample data sets that the course provides. They were helpful to practice on. The strategies and techniques are wonderful.

I have learned many helpful tips and tricks from this book. I found the techniques very easy to follow. I can say that this was one of the best courses I have taken from Audible. The explanations are very clear and informative. It also tackles about Python and why it is best suited for Linux programming.

Overall, this course is excellent for a total absolute beginner. Totally worth the bucks spent. I will go through this guide one more time to get better at it.

Great book for my Linux course

This is an essential book to listen to anyone new in the field of Linux server systems. Very educational that will help you master it. Well structured and a handy reference. It's got everything you need to learn about Linux command. Ideal for someone wanting to learn the command line in Linux. Teaches required commands and users are able to learn how to string commands together and gain more experience in Linux to possibly progress to more specialist skills.

I am impressed with the wealth of knowledge that the author imparts and found the writing very entertaining as well. Maybe my review isn't early, but this audiobook is easy to understand so far and takes away a lot of the tension focused on Linux studying. I just started to listen to this audiobook and now I better understand the file system than I did after two college courses.

Get this book if you want to learn Linux programming. It gives students a superb introduction to the command line, taking them from almost knowing nothing to utilizing astonishingly complex commands. I would say that this audible must be heard by everyone.

Brilliant

I have a little understanding of Linux and would like to expand my knowledge. This book contains simple explanations and examples that you can immediately apply. It's a good book for all levels, but it's especially good for mid-level users because it takes them to the next level. The part on devices in this book gave me the best idea.

Daniel Jones presented the information in a well-detailed manner. He covers a wide range of information about what Linux is and how it works. I find his writing easy to understand and he gets more to the point. I also like the way it was narrated and it feels like I was coached and trained personally with guidance and everything that I need to know about the Linux programming language.

One of the most approachable tome on the subject. For those looking to master the Linux command line and get an essential understand of the core Linux command-line tools, this book is a highly effective and useful guide. I can honestly say I have found the beginner's guide to Linux.

After listening to this guide, I feel like I understand Linux better now. Overall, I love this book much. Glad to have it as a reference.

Well arranged

This book has taught me a lot of useful information. I found the techniques to be quite simple to implement. I'd say this was one of the best Audiobook courses I've ever attended. The explanations are simple and straightforward. It also discusses Python and why it is the greatest language for developing on Linux. I'm grateful to have found this. There's a lot of material here, and it's all really well arranged.

Highly recommended

I've dealt with Linux systems before and learned a number of commands, but I didn't fully comprehend how they operated. This book was quite useful in delivering that information, and it's also a short and enjoyable read. It may also serve as a reminder if you neglect to place an order. Overall, I learned a lot from it. Highly recommended.

Love the strategies

For a long time, I've been trying to figure out how Linux works, and most books would just cover the basics. Other works I've read, on the other hand, frequently avoid the donk, assuming that readers don't care or presume they already do. While providing a deep degree of knowledge, this book also provides all of the fundamentals you'll need, without presuming you already know practically everything.

Thumbs up

I have been trying to figure out how Linux works for a while, and most books will touch on a few of the important things. However, the other books I have read usually don't go into the nitty-gritty thinking people don't want to know that, or just assume they already do. While giving that deep level of knowledge this book also gives all the basics you could need while not assuming you know almost anything.
