Summary

If Nick Stone wasn't so desperate for his American citizenship, he probably wouldn't have agreed to do this one last job with the CIA. But Carrie is over there and he simply can't refuse the chance of a new life with the woman he loves.

The job seems simple enough - and he is certainly skilled enough. Infiltrate the hostile, violent republic of Algeria, kill a money-laundering businessman, and bring back his severed head.

Stone knows there are some questions you don't ask, but as events spin out of control he realizes there is vital information he hasn't been told. Lurking beneath the glamorous exterior of the south of France is a dirty drugs war - and Stone is thrown into the middle of it. And there he is faced with his toughest dilemma yet...

Top Audiobook

Of the 8 Nick Stone books which I've listened to so far, this is my favourite.

Andy McNab and Paul Thornley are a brilliant team.

Why

Good yarn but why does Nick stone fail all the time? Every mission has a twist and no mission actually goes to plan. Suppose this is why there is a story😁

Brutal. This will have you gripped.

Any additional comments?

As ever, Mcnab has a flair for action packed storytelling. There are parts of this book that are totally brutal and shocking. Mcnab knows just how to capture the dark side of humankind.

The only thing that stopped me from awarding a five star rating was the mission, the radio dialogue was a bit prolonged, and a bit tedious at times. Other than that another this super addition to the amazing Nick Stone series by the legendary Andy Mcnab.

Not his best work.

I have been reading the Nick Stone series in sequence and was getting sucked into them but this one is tedious.
It starts off well but soon turn into a long trudge of repetition. By the end, I couldn't have cared less what happened to any of them.
However, the previous 4 were good enough that I'll try book 6 in the hope it's got more going for it. If not, farewell, Nick Stone.

painfully slow

nothing but detail, hour after hour! I actually couldn't finish this book. I normally like Andy McNabb but this is purely a chunk of life I won't get back! it may be some peoples cup of tea but for me it was purgatory! sorry, I hated it!

One of the best in the series and a great listen

First time listened to an Andy Mcnab novel instead of reading it, and really enjoyed both the story and the performance
