About this listen
Molly Alcott didn't expect to open her mailbox one summer morning and find an old letter stuffed between bills and a supermarket flyer. Penned in familiar handwriting, dated over 15 years ago, the letter was written to Molly after her first date with the man she'll never forget.
Week after week, new letters appear. Each marks an event in the history of their epic love affair. Each heals a wound. Each holds the confession of the man who still owns Molly's heart.
The letters are full of promise, hope, and love, but truth be told, Molly wishes she could unread them all.
Because the man who wrote these letters is not the one sending them.

Oh this was an emotional one and such an exceptional listen. ‘King Teddy Hamilton’ and Jillian Macie brought every possible emotion that Finn and Molly were experiencing in their love story. And what a love story they have.
This is a second chance romance with a difference and not one I read a lot of…aka a married couple, who divorce and then rekindle their love. This scenario is so real life, it happens all the time, so I could kind of sympathise with some of the feelings they were having. No marriage is plain sailing. They have all the ups and downs that married couples experience, the ship can get rocky many times on a marriage journey.
‘For a year, we’d fought constantly. We’d bickered endlessly. We’d tolerated each other, both of us waiting for the storm to pass. It hadn’t. The thunderstorm had turned into a hurricane . . . and then we had the fight to end all others.’
We first meet Finn and Molly in the previous Maysen Jar book, The Birthday List. It’s at that time, they have recently divorced, so feelings are still raw and bitter. Years later, Finn and Molly have developed a good routine between them and their two children. However, deep down, feelings are still there for one another. It’s when some letters appear out of the blue, written by Finn over the years, that it’s time for them to finally talk about those early days and how they got it so wrong. The miscommunications are finally dealt with and like Molly’s garden, a new romance starts to bloom…and it’s so darn beautiful!
‘Darling Molly, I would be honored if you’d join me for dinner this Saturday night. Yours, Finn’
So another stunning read from Devney. She really is becoming one of my favourite authors. Her words just draw you in from the first page and I’m SO happy I’ve finally been able to read/listen the Maysen duet.
