About this listen

No one wants to spend Christmas Eve snowed-in at the airport—but will it spark an unexpected romance?

It’s Christmas Eve, and school teacher Nia West can’t wait to get to Jamaica for the sun and adventure she’s dreamed of all year long. So what if she’s traveling solo this year? A relaxing holiday alone on the beach sounds like a sweet escape from the usual family drama.

Family drama is something Andrew Beckman knows all too well. Ever since his ex-girlfriend started dating his brother, Andrew has buried himself in work at his veterinary practice. Now he’s on his way to an awkward family Christmas party with the happy couple, and all he wants is to put the season behind him as fast as possible.

When an unexpected blizzard grounds all flights, Nia and Andrew’s holiday plans are put on ice, and they’re stuck spending Christmas Eve at the airport. Soon the pair of travelers decide to make the best of it and team up to spread holiday cheer to the other stranded passengers. After all, just because their flight is cancelled doesn’t mean Christmas is. Now they’re about to discover that with the right person, home for the holidays can be anywhere—and life’s crossroads are the perfect place to begin a new story.

I need a part 2,3,4 of this book. I need each character developed further. I really enjoyed this!

Loved the male protagonist. It was lovely to hear about a non-stereotype black male who had a good character to boot. Unfortunately, I'm more than disappointed with the female protagonist. She started well, but she turned into a character with no feelings except sorriness for herself, and she was indeed hypocritical. It felt like she had no idea of the real world and was content to pick the flaws in everyones characters, except her own, wallowing in her own undeserved self pity, despite the author depicting several other back stories much more tragic than her own (including the male protagonist IMO). Her thought process is more akin to a 16 year old than 26. It's frustrating because romantic novels with 2 black protagonists are rare, so it's upsetting that the female character was so weak.

Overall, I really liked the story as a whole. The plot captured my attention, and I loved the additions of the secondary and thierchary characters.

Good, but disappointing Heroin

I enjoyed this book, but would have liked more of the story focused on the two main characters. It just seemed to focus on children having a nice Christmas morning. I probably wouldn’t have chosen to listen to this book had I known.

More romance, less children!

I couldn’t put it down, it was a really sweet and romantic book. They meet at the airport and get snowed in. It is love at first sight and they spend 15 hs + connecting and trying to make Christmas a little better for people stuck in the terminal with them.
Kendrick and Jurnee’s performances were amazing and made us feel even more. Great book and free on catalogue plus.

Sweet and entertaining
