Leather and Lace

The story was intense with just the right amount of suspense to keep me guessing. The beginning was a little slow for me, but once it picked up, I was hooked. This is definitely a story I will strongly recommend, and an author I will be following in the future.

Sexy and suspenseful

I always love it when authors write books about authors! I love it even more when the author in the book is needing "research". Samantha Cole wrote a great story that goes deeper than simple research. I spent most of the 2nd half trying to figure out who the person was and why!

The narration was okay. I would have preferred dual or duet style for this book because I was not a fan of the narrators male voice. I feel like it was too high pitched and whiny.

Loved it!

This was a great find~ I really enjoyed this story! It had great characters, a fun and sexy storyline and a good suspense as well. It hooked me right away. The narration was good. If I had any critique, I think I would have enjoyed this a little more as a dual narration. I loved the narrator's female narration, however, the male I would have loved to be a bit deeper or more masculine. I still really enjoyed this book though! I will absolutely be picking up book 2.

Disappointing

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Not sure.

Has Leather & Lace turned you off from other books in this genre?

I think I’ll try the next in the series because of different narrator. Hoping there will be a bit more to the story. This plot line just sounded too much like other books I’ve read. This one wasn’t special in any way, IMHO, compared to other books I’ve read. Maybe it’s just me. It was ok. I have nothing negative to say about it, just not as intriguing as books by other authors I’ve read.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator’s attempt at a male voice was dreadful. Very distracting, but I did manage to finish the book. Won’t listen again.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Leather & Lace?

Not sure. There was no one “scene” that I would single out.

Any additional comments?

I just don’t care for the way there was mystery building up all through the story only to be concluded abruptly at the end in such an almost unbelievably easy way. Did like the epilogue although it was very brief.

Worst book and narration I have ever encountered.

The narrator alone is awful and hard to sit through. I listened to the first chapter and that was the longest few minutes of my life. I have hundreds upon hundreds of books and this is the first book I have ever purchased that I just could not stomach enough to finish. HUGE waste of money. I only gave 1 star because it wouldn't allow me to write this without giving one.

Great listen; terrible narration

I really enjoyed the story; but the voice of the narrator kept jarring me out of the read. An exaggerated voice - definitely off for use as a man’s voice, and no guy talks in that greasy, Pervy tone.
Either use two narrators (one real male) or a better narrator. Takes away from an interesting tale.

Mixed

If I had to rate the story it was really good, erotic, fast paced with some awesome characters. Four stars definitely. Flip side is the narration which could be better. To be fair, she didn't do a horrible job. If it was a minor characters voice that didn't mesh, You can overlook it. But she didn't do the main male character Devon well and it was awkward and even creepy at times. All the other male voices were good. Just Devon was difficult to listen to.

Loved the story

Enjoyed the story but felt the narration let it down. The parts that were the male did not resonate with me. The story itself had me invested and it was steamy.

Hot and Steamy!

You cant help but fall in love with the characters in this book! The narrator did a fine job bring the story to life, but I am in love with the author as of this moment.
Kristen is very relate able, and Devon ( and the rest of the team) just makes you want to get naked. There is drama that makes you want to cry, hold your breath, and shout in joy. For the BDSM community, she did wonderful and getting the lifestyle correct, unlike another author I can think of. I am currently enjoying the next book in the series and will be enjoying other works by this author as I find her writing to be crisp clean and refreshing.

Suspense romance

I recommend this book to readers who enjoy Navy SEAL mysteries, sex club stories, and/or BDSM DOM/sub erotica.

No cliffhanger. Book 1 of series.

I liked the characters and storyline. I plan on reading the next book in the series.

The narration was not my favourite, but okay.
