Summary

Lea’s Secret Powers

How amazing would life be if it was as magical as a child’s imagination? Play and imagination can take children to a place dreams are made of.

Lea’s Secret Powers is the second book in a series written and narrated by Ann Twigg. Ann has an amazing way with words that draws a child into her stories and has them wanting to hear more.

Lea is excited to see what will happen this year when she plants her magic sunflower seeds. This time she is lead in to an enchanting world of pixies, tooth fairies, and magical powers

This book emphasizes the importance of looking after and caring for all living things. By looking after plants children can learn cognitive skills, build self-confidence, and, best of all, be outside playing getting dirty, digging, using creativity, and watching things grow.

Ann is a mother of three, grandmother of eight, and great-grandmother of three, and has worked with children all her working life. Her stories are inspired by these children and events that have happened in her own life with her own children.

Educating children is the best way for them to thrive and these audio books are both educational and fascinating to listen to.

A superb sequel to Lea’s Secret Sunflower

Thus story can be enjoyed anywhere at anytime and develops an appreciation for the great outdoors.

After hearing the 1st book: Lea’s Secret Sunflower, and all about Lea’s competition to grow the tallest sunflower at school, showing that the best things come to those who wait. The sunflower brings her fame and happiness.

In this sequel, we were pleased to hear Lea’s excitement of planting her sunflower seeds and then gaining great happiness as they grow quickly and yet again have magic powers. The sunflowers bring happiness and this time as it talks and laughs, it drops it’s petals which make Lea’s natural surroundings come to life!

Lea meets a pixie who takes her on a Tooth Fairy adventure. My daughter particularly liked this story and could totally visualise the story without a single written word or illustration.

This could be used to develop children’s writing as they creatively decide which flowers have which powers.

It’s read well with Ann Twigg’s soothing, gentle voice. It’s perfectly paced and the plot develops well and is quite realistic and down to earth for a children’s book.

Lovely

This story follows on from Lea's Magic Sunflower - which delighted my 4 year old daughter who loved that story. Ann Twigg writes charming tales and this was no exception. A perfect story to cuddle up with your children and enjoy!

A Nice Story for Bedtime

Listened to this following "Lea's Magic Sunflower" which we enjoyed a little more than this. My daughters aged 6 and almost 8 years, liked the fairy part of the story. My eldest daughter felt it was a little young for her but my youngest enjoyed it. As we are busy planting our own sunflowers at the moment, they could relate well to this and got their imaginations going. Lea has a wonderful magical time with her sunflowers and my girls loved when she could hear the animals say things. They wish they could hear our animals too! We listened to this on 1.5 speed rather than 1 speed as we found the 1 speed much too slow. Overall, an enjoyable story to listen to.

I downloaded this book for my daughter as she had listened to the first book in this series, the second book was just as good as the first, and my daughter absolutely loved it. Fantastic would highly recommend this author.
