Useful Suplemental Text in PDF !!!

This great audiobook of short stories is a very useful supplement to the grammar. It offers the student opportunities to improve listening and reading comprehension and to develop vocabulary. The stories are easy to follow without having to understand every word and they are not so long that the reader loses interest. The stories are broken into "manageable" chapters which facilitate assigning appropriate amounts of homework and the quizzes at the end of each chapter allow the student to have a sense of success. This audiobook is a good addition to anyone want improve improve their listening and grammar skills.

Money Well Spent for my German Learning Process

I found this audiobook after reading an article by the author that offers a "how to" for learning in a foreign language. I'm a high beginner, and the level is perfect. Most of the content is easy, but (as far as I can perceive at my level) there is some interesting new vocabulary (not always the vocabulary that's marked); common spoken expressions, which are hard to learn if you hate to memorize dialogs; some good expressions using reflexives and direct/indirect objects; some past & future tense. Dialog provides examples of talk between family members, friends, and strangers. You will receive the E-book so can read for the gist and the story line, but delve into unfamiliar grammatical structures and verb forms as you wish. The E-book format makes it easy to highlight things for further study. In the meantime, the story is interesting so far: the kind of universal travel story that any traveler can appreciate. Writing material for adult language learners requires a complex skill set as well as a gift for narrative, so I consider my money well spent!

Great for beginners and intermediate

I have been studying German for about 5 years... i consider myself a "weak" intermediate speaker. it is very hard to find just the right book. some are way to advanced and most are to beginner"ish", this is a perfect audiobook because i can enjoy listening and reading it ( Because after purchase I found the PDF version in my library). I am still challenged by learning new words and structure.

Amazing

Perfect for my boy who is in German II. Great for me. Easy listening while expanding my vocab. I speak passable conversational German and had 4 years in HS. The author spent a lot of time and effort creating a book of stories that will naturally improve one's German, if one just listen it regularly.

Fun audiobook

This is a great audiobook for those trying to become fluent in German. Its set up as a series of short stories you’re supposed to just listening and after read in the attached Pdf book and see how much you understand. There are also bold vocabulary words that are defined after the story. You’re supposed to reread each story a couple of times and as you do you naturally gain a better grasp of the language. It makes learning a fun experience so you want to keep listening.

The best audiobook if you want learn German

I taught myself German via Memrise (up to level 7) but I have doubts whether Memrise is enough so I bought this as a supplement. I received a very pleasant shock because I could actually understand most of the first story without translation. When I was a kid (now 67) I read a lot which helped my vocabulary immensely so I'm hoping this will have similar effect. Excellent tool!

A Great Resource

I am currently studying German with an online instructor. We use the textbooks and workbooks (available on Amazon). I use this to supplement my learning. If you are learning with a teacher, I would suggest waiting until you have completed a few chapters and have built up some vocabulary. That will make the experience much smoother. I also highly recommend using the Pdf attached (It has really helped my listening comprehension skills).

It really helped.

My comprehension and knowledge of sentence structure had gotten rusty. This was the oil I needed. I'm going to listen it again.

Entertaining & useful!

I am enjoying these stories. I am an intermediate German speaker/reader. The stories are Amazing, understand most of it, yet pick up a lot of new vocabulary. The vocabulary review and test at the end of each chapter add to the learning. Definitely a good buy for beginner to intermediate German learners.
