Summary
Sigmund Freud considérait cet ouvrage comme son œuvre fondamentale. Il eut d'ailleurs un succès retentissant. Il est vrai que la proposition de l'auteur est attirante : le rêve, perçu comme l'accomplissement déguisé d'un désir, serait la voie royale qui mène à l'inconscient. À partir du récit de n'importe quel rêve, Freud s'autorise ainsi des interprétations dont le mécanisme utilise de libres associations afin d'accéder aux idées latentes et aux désirs refoulés du narrateur.
Si de nos jours, la méthode employée par Freud fait l'objet de critiques, il n'en reste pas moins que cet ouvrage, de par son approche novatrice et le style très abordable de son écriture, constitue une bonne introduction à la Révolution Freudienne.
