Summary

Él es de otra.
He’s married. He’s forbidden, but I want him.
Knowing what can never be kills me.
No podemos desafiar al destino, estamos destinados el uno para el otro

Ella está con él.
Pero él no es digno de ese amor, y ella siempre será mi vida.
I’ll burn the entire world to the ground until she rights her wrongs.
This will end with us, and she knows it.

Phenomenal

I read the ebook last year, and I'm glad I had the chance to listen to the audiobook, I absolutely loved it. The Cape Hill series is incredible, and it's beautifully written with a captivating storyline and remarkable characters. Lasts is one of those stories that totally drew me in, losing track of time while wholly engrossed. Moreover, it is read by three talented narrators, Jacob Morgan, Aaron Shedlock, and Lacy Laurel; they literally breathed life into the characters. Overall, this was definitely a very satisfying listen, one I wholeheartedly recommend.

Audiobook Obsession - Likeable

I enjoyed the first book but this one left me all bothered in a good way. I mean so many things were wrong but good at the same time. We like the things that are wrong. The male narrator was amazing!

I voluntarily received a courtesy copy of this audio book from AudiobookObsession and I am choosing to leave a review.

3,5 ⭐️🎧

A good and intriguing story but sadly I was so put off by the female narrator that it pretty much ruined half the book for me. I mean seriously, Leia is supposed to be 18 and she is voiced by someone who sounds middle aged and enunciates every word like she has something stuck in the back of her throat. And it’s even worse when she does a male voice. I ended up listening to her parts with 1.8x the normal speed just to get through.
Aaron Shedlock was pretty good and Jacob Morgan was his usual brilliant self!!

Wow, I want more!

This is hot and sexy from beginning to the end. It starts right after the Firsts ends. There are so many twists and turns in this story. You never know who to cheer for. The jaw dropping cliffhanger at the end makes you want more. A great story with awesome narration in Jacob Morgan, Aaron Shedlock and Lacy Laurel. Can’t wait for book 3, Always.

🔥🔥🔥🔥

C. L. Matthews, Can you spell H-O-T🔥 that is what this was; If it was in the past or the present. I was blown away with the intensity of heat from the intimate scenes that was going on in this novel. I did not know what to expect from the title, "Lasts." Boy, it gave a left punch, a right hook, and then knockout TKO all the way to the end. I was just at a AWWW what was coming at me after each chapter. I found myself going back wanting to make sure that I was hearing what I was listening to and it is true that it was.

And the lineup of narrators was unbelievable, it left me speechless. Aaron Shedlock, Jacob Morgan and Lacy Laurel came with their gloves off ready to do what they do BEST punch you out of the ring with their AWESOME, EXTRAORDINARY performance, which deserves every 5-⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐s that I gladly give to them.

I just LOVED it!!! I just LOVED it!!! You'll love it too!!! THIS ISN'T FOR 17+ AND UNDER OR THOSE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH OLDER MEN/ YOUNGER WOMAN RELATIONSHIP...If you're all right with it, listen on because C. L. Matthews have it for you.

WOW!!!

This was an interesting experience. I read Firsts, and listened to Lasts. I loved it. I am going to have to get Firsts in audio. I found listening just brought a whole different perspective to my experience. The combination of narrators (I love them all !!!!!) and the story was so enriching, captivating and just unputdownable. I have been listening to a lot of audiobooks recently, and this has to be one of my favorites. I just recently found CL Matthews and will be looking for more of her books.

Wow and I thought book one Firsts couldn’t be topped, I was so wrong Lasts was over the top. Consequences be damned was proven right in this story of taboo, forbidden love.
Always, book three can’t be released on audible soon enough.
Bravo to the narrators Aaron Shedlock, Lacy Laurel, Jacob Morgan you so made these characters come to life.

So hot you may combust....

And I thought book 1 was good!! This one was even better. In this book you get a bit more of the back story as well as continuing the molten hot story between all the characters. Listening to this book may cause you to spontaneously combust from all the heat! I can't wait for the next book. I need to know what happens next!

Jacob, Aaron and Lacy are an amazing narration team! They bring the characters to life and really draw you into the story. I love listening to them!

Hbsbsb

This starts right where Firsts left off and I would highly recommend listening to that first. There is something so raw and captivating about what CL Matthews does in this book. She really digs to the core of Silas, Leia and Brax. They are so beautifully flawed and relatable. Some parts of their stories will just knock the wind right out of your sails. Matthews does not shy away from uncomfortable subject matter and what she delivers is gut wrenching perfection.

Lacy Laurel and Aaron Sherlock are wonderful but for me Jacob Morgan as Brax is next level. Simply brilliant!

This book broke me....

I had a SERIOUS book hangover when I finished this. I stared down at the screen when it ended, thinking this could NOT be it. The performances by Aaron, Lacy and Jacob were beyond amazing. They packed so much emotion and made you feel so much that it left you reeling when you finished.

What the everloving god

Seriously. SERIOUSLY!!!
Sorry,I don't usually do spoilers, but I cannot do without it ...
This is the most F***ed up story ever. There's incest, gay, hetero, underage ... sex. It's like everything goes with everyone. At halfway point I'm wondering if there are going to be animals as well ...
Only rarely does it happen that I cannot finish a book, but hell if this is a book I will finish listening.
OMG, really.

High passion and taboo

There are not many books that leave me continually thinking about them, not a book hangover but more just in awe of the story. This series does just that! C.L. Matthews continues the Cape Hill series with its taboos and suspense, making me listen straight through. Leia, Silas, and Brax have such powerful stories. Each broken, each surprising, and each open to love and disaster. I can’t wait to see what book 3 has in store for us. With the steam factor high and the story line unpredictable, it’s sure to leave us breathless.

The narration of the book is impeccable. Aaron Sherlock breaths life into Silas with his amazing Spanish accent. Add Lacy Laurel as Leia, giving us an emotionally charged performance(that poor girl, definitely in need of guidance) and Jacob Morgan as Brax, with his confusion and high powered love coming through. Loved every minute of this book.

Age gap, with some MM, and MMF scenes

In Lasts we rejoin Sylas, Leia, and Braxton. This time they take a trip to Puerto Rico for Leia's 18th birthday. These characters have so much sexual tension and chemistry it is crazy. I am anxious to listen to book 3, Always.

Ends of a cliffhanger

I will admit, I wasn’t sure what to expect, only because Firsts seemed to be all of the place. Lasts has a lot more character and story development. It’s also sinfully hot and taboo! Make sure you listen to Firsts, first and this one also ends on a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to see where the author is taking this story!

Narration was on point! I could listen to Lacy, Aaron and Jacob all day long!

Love this

The story starts where Firsts left off. The author goes into the background of Silas and Brax story. Brax questions himself about his sexuality, love and feelings for Leia. Leia struggles with her feeling between Silas and Brax. Taboo, love triangle , steamy hot sex. This story ends with a cliffhanger. I cant wait to see what the author has for them in the next story.
Lacy Laurel and Aaron Sherlock are excellent narrators, the addition of Jacob Morgan was a perfect choice for Brax. All three showed all the angst, emotions, passions of each character! 🎧AudiobookObsessioneviewer🎧

Wild and Crazy Ride!!!

I will be very honest, I was not exactly a huge fan of Firsts, but Lasts definitely turned things around for me a bit. Lasts picks up with Leia and Brax in Puerto Rico, along with Sy and Leia's mother and father, which makes for some added excitement. Lasts alternates between the past and present and provides a lot of information about the past in relation to Sy, and Sy's relationship with Leia's father as well as Sy's overall personality and relationships. Lasts also offers some more insight into Brax and his friendship with Leia and his feelings for her, as well Brax's overall sexuality.

I liked that while there was large sexual theme, Lasts also had more story development than Firsts. There were definitely some jaw-dropping moments and Lasts does end on a cliffhanger so I can't wait wait to see what happens with Leia, Brax and Sy. This has definitely been a wild and crazy ride!!!

I think Aaron Shedlock and Lacy Laurel did a good job with the narration in this story, which I feel like could be tricky at times with the language change at times and accents. I really, really enjoyed the addition of Jacob Morgan to the narration of this story as Brax, as he is one of my all time favorite male narrators . I am of course bias since he is one of my faves, but he did a fabulous job and I enjoyed his addition to the story. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

A sinful read!

This will end with them, and she knows it...

Oh, holy moley! Downright sinful and full of taboo and passion. So raw.

Captivating and hooking. I cannot wait for book three!

God, those narrators are so amazing and their voices are just full of sin!

Better! 🎧AudiobookObsessionReviewer

I love this story and where it’s going. The narration was spot on for the most part. Some characters names are pronounced so similarly that it was difficult determining who was who. At one point, I wasn’t sure what was happening- turned out that a new character with an identical sounding name was being introduced. It took me a minute to figure this out. This is probably more a function of the author’s name choices than the narrators’ pronunciations but it’s hard to tell. I think it’s worlds better than the first one, but I do think the time flips could’ve been smoother. Overall, I really liked it and am looking forward to the next book.
