The Complete Idiot's Guide language audio programs are guaranteed to work for beginners, as a refresher course, and even with those who have been frustrated in other attempts to learn a foreign language. You can start learning today.
Please note: The Spanish equivalent of an English word may vary from one country to another. Even though we have situated the dialogues in Mexico we have used a more standardized Spanish throughout this audiobook.
I would have liked this recording more if there was time given in the audio track for the listener to repeat was has been said. Without the involvement of being able to speak what was being taught I found it easy to zone out and stop paying attention. However when I did apply myself and concentrated on the lessons I found them rewarding.

I took Spanish in college, but to really get your brain around a language you need practice. The format they use is really great--a few words to start, with increasing complexity. The speed is about right, too. I think the bad reviews here are from folks who think they can pick up a program and magically absorb the ability to speak another language. Wrong. It's work, and you need to put some effort behind it.
Like I said, I think it is a great program, and it is giving me lots of practice and useful vocabulary.
