Thank you Andre
The best learning aid I've ever come across. Fun, engaging, good flow and rhythm. Would recommend for anyone willing to invest the time and effort to embark on a language learning adventure.

Great idea and well executed!
I thought these books were going to be a real struggle, the first book is read at what seems a painfully slow pace, however you quickly get used to it and appreciated why it's done - it enables you to clearly understand and repeat what is being said. The reading pace picks as as the series progresses. The stories are engaging and common vocabulary and phrases are repeated in different contexts so that they're readily absorbed. The books also use a lot of the simple past test in German because the stories are told from the point of view of the main character, Dino, so it's a great way to get used to saying things like "I said", "She said", "He bought" etc... There are a few odd sound effects that I don't really think add anything to the content but they're not irritating either and don't detract from what is being said, even for someone with hearing problems like me. Overall I'd thoroughly recommend these books to anyone learning German who's at advanced A1 or A2 level.

Slow, uneven pace, even for beginners
I bought the audiobook because I already have the text on Kindle. To be honest, it was disappointing that the audio wasn't free with the text, or the text free with the audio.
I realize this is for beginners, but the narration is far too slow. Each word is spoken at a reasonable pace, but the narrator pauses between almost every word! The pauses mean that if you use the speed settings to speed it up, it sounds very stacatto, and is really no good to listen to. If it had been spoken slowly at an even pace it would have been fine.
The stories themselves are quite interesting considering that they are in very simple German. However, due to the painfully slow and uneven pace I feel I have wasted my money.

Would recommend for those learning German!
Really helpful for trying to familiarise yourself with German pronunciation and phrasing. Found it very useful in conjunction with evening classes. I'll be downloading the other books in this series!

Inspired
This is absolutely *brilliant*.
I was hooked from the first paragraph... a great sense of humour woven throughout; and the vocabulary used is pitched at precisely the right level so that while you're constantly being extended, there's enough framework to bootstrap from to pick up the new stuff.

Such a good way of starting to think in German.
The simple vocabulary, slow clear delivery, and repeated use of words in different situations, makes this a very useful program. I have found that the phrases linger in my mind, so that I start making sentences for myself. My level of knowledge is that I have worked through Paul Noble's programs previously.

Highly Recommended
This series - 10 small books, in which a young Italian looks for work in Germany - is excellent for beginner level students of German.
