Summary

Hadjar Darkhan heeded the call of his dragon heart. His path was dangerous, full of hardships and bitter losses. And when he came close to reaching his goal, he lost everything instead....

Hadjar survived the bloody war for the throne of his homeland. He fought against monsters and enemies that made entire generations tremble in fear. He traversed the vast Sea of Sand, found the mythical Mage City, and witnessed the destruction of an ancient civilization. Then, in the pursuit of knowledge, Hadjar came to Dahanatan, the capital of the Empire.

Hadjar had thought his goal was worth the sacrifice, but now he wasn't so sure. He'd made too many mistakes, lost too much, and paid too high a price by unquestioningly heeding that inexorable call. Had it all been for nothing? What if Hadjar Darkhan was just an ordinary fool who'd found his supposed destiny somewhere it had never been in the first place? No convenient answers were forthcoming....

Wonderful addition to the series...

This tenth episode relates the opening moves of the war between Darnassus and Lancan, where Derek of the Steppe and Hadjar battle throughout. As always, the book covers so many events it's hard to condense into a good summary. You must read this! If you haven't been reading this series, begin with Book 1 today. I'm already impatient for the next book!

.

Love the books and like what you are trying to do with it and I even enjoyed the plot. But honestly I had to skip a lot in this book. Got to the end did he find his name?

ANOTHER earth flash back?!... but wait..

Another god damn magical earth "flash back"- mind test- thing? Those are so tedious, I had to just skip this one, I don't know who "Helen" is, and I could not care less. Enough of that lame shit.
Except... by the end of book, it's kind of made clear that it's the last one.
AND THAT ENDING!!!! Best book in the series! Amazing climax.

Painfully slow and repeating/ changing the story

This was hard to get through in many areas, and this is the first book I had to skip parts of. The first books established his life on earth, and lack of interest in women. Other books established his past, and acceptance of this on earth. Even more books established him over coming all of his past. This book restarts that whole process with earth Canon that never was mentioned under a trope of 'it was too painful to remember before now'.

Also, past characters are omnipotent and unbeatable in just a few years. The series keeps showing the main character as the fastest growing, but every other main character seems to easily keep up.... While spend so much time telling how amazing his growth is when he is basically average among the elites? Mind you this established his is one of the most powerful in the empire now, but oh well.
