Paradise is no holiday when you are a cop

I enjoyed this book because the author packs so much in his stories that the time just flys by and before you know it the story is over, leaving you chuckling at the memories.
Walt after Maggie , his fiancé is kidnapped by the brother of a man he put in jail decides that life is to short and at there age why put of getting married. The problem is where? Neither can decide so the fates step in and give them some very big clues that Hawaii is where they should tie the knot. It's just a shame that lady justice has other plans for the happy couple and what starts as a nice quiet ceremony ends with a life and death honeymoon that neither of them will forget. With the help of old friends like Mary and Willie and new ones like a lizard and a Hawaiin police man the couple have to tackle a volcano, dark caves and wild jungles while in the tropical paradise. Walt will soon wish he was back home pounding the streets and arresting bad guys but even that isn't smooth sailing when you are a 65 year old rookie cop and there is a skeleton in your walls. Oh yes and your dad has just moved into your apartment building.
I liked the narrator with his easy laid back voice just right for the character of Walt.

"The rest should be a piece of cake."

Any additional comments?

The third, but completely stand alone, book in the Lady Justice series, continuing the musings and adventures of the retired realtor turned cop. This time, following his previous fun as a Presley impersonator, Walt decides to take bride-to-be, Maggie, to Hawaii for their marriage ceremony as well as two friends to act as participants. But the course of even the truest of loves does not always go smoothly ...

This is such a delightful series and narrator, George Kuch, gives yet another impeccable performance as the witty, grumpy and very human Walter. His other characterisations are good, too, but Walt truly lives through Kuch's voice, warm with just the right hints of emotion, whatever is called for in the text.
Although not my favourite in the series so far, this was such an enjoyable romp with gentle (but very funny) humour, I would recommend it to anyone and I look forward to book four.
