Mars 1938. Le physicien italien Ettore Majorana disparaît au large de la Sicile. Avec lui, le projet secret sur lequel il travaillait depuis des années.

Automne 1955. On retrouve par miracle les notes du physicien disparu.

Elles inspirent au père Ernetti une idée folle : construire une machine à voir dans le temps. Un chronoviseur.

Sur ordre de Pie XII, le prêtre plonge deux mille ans en arrière. L'objectif est simple : prouver l'existence du Christ.

Commence alors une course folle entre le Vatican, la CIA, le KGB et le Mossad. Car ce que le père Ernetti va découvrir, en pleine Guerre froide, pourrait changer l'ordre du monde.
