Özet

Jugé, reconnu coupable de meurtre avec préméditation, condamné à mort et exécuté, on ne saura jamais pourquoi Meursault a tué. Il assiste à son procès comme si c'était un autre qu'on jugeait. Une profonde réflexion sur l'être et la vie.

as the title states. the narrator seemed to think it fitting to never change his tone at all throughout the monotone reading, so that it's often unclear if someone has started talking

Short French modern classic that is reflective and atmospheric, suitable for French learners (at least intermediate level though).

The best thing for me about reading this book is that I was able to read it in French. I think Camus is good at unveiling his idea and disclosing the main character. But the idea and the main character are so disagreable that I had to force myself to open the book every time until I finished it. It is fairly short though, that's something I am thankful to the author for.

What would have made L'Étranger better?

it starts with something unintelligible , then weird music for a while and then it appears to start randomly, so first time it started halfway through and since it goes back to the start which is pretty annoying, normally when you log back in the next day it carries on where you eft of

Quite a monotonous narration and lengthy interludes between chapters. Thought-provoking storyline, however. More character depth would have been better too.
