Summary

In 1933, American showman Carl Denham returned from a mysterious, hidden island with a priceless treasure. A treasure not gold or jewels, but the island's barbaric god, a monstrous anthropoid called "Kong". The savage giant escaped and wreaked havoc among the man-made canyons of Manhattan, but within hours of the giant ape's death his body - and Carl Denham - disappeared. Twenty-five years later, the son of Carl Denham makes a shocking discovery that leads him back to the site of his father's greatest adventure and to the answers that will unlock the century's greatest mystery and history's greatest miracle.

Authorized by the Cooper Estate and based on the original novel that inspired the all-time classic film. This new novel acts as both prequel and sequel to the classic fantasy tale, King Kong.

The Eighth Wonder of the World!!!

If you could sum up Kong in three words, what would they be?

Really Entertaining Storytelling!

What other book might you compare Kong to and why?

There is no book to compare it to. It is both prequel and sequel. This tale takes us to the beginning of Kongs life to his final resting place and fills in what happens in between.

Which scene was your favorite?

Kong vs. Gaw!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The death of Kongs mother and father was particularly moving and the special revelation in Kongs cave towards the end of the book.

Any additional comments?

For King Kong fans this book is essential! For those interested in mysterious adventure tales this book is a must! Give this a chance and you will not be disappointed!

High adventure in all its pulpy goodness

When I purchased this book, I was expecting a homage to the original King Kong, but not much beyond that. Boy was I wrong.

This was a rip roaring adventure worthy of the best classic monster film from the golden age. Ancient civilizations, weird and dangerous creatures, native island intrigue, secrets lost in time, this book has it all, and in the best way possible.

The action picks up from the first chapter. A lost chart is found to Skull Island by the son of the long missing Carl Denholm. Denholm disappeared along with the body of King Kong almost immediately after the film ended. Time has passed and Denholm's now grown son tries to find some answers and get closure. What follows is what can only be called High Adventure. I loved it!

Give this a try, it's well worth your time and consideration. Highly recommended.

Overacted, Great Story

Overacting was distracting, but the story carried it through and doesn' t disappoint. Well written.
