Summary

Alone in a world on the brink of war…two unlikely allies will discover a love greater than time.

Exiled from her home, powerful oracle Cosmina Cordei holds the key to uniting those protecting mankind from evil. But just as she makes her way into the holy city to perform an ancient rite, the enemy closes in for the kill.

Drawn by a destiny he won’t accept, elite assassin Henrik Lazar detests the mystical curse handed down by his mother. But when the sorcery in his blood is activated and past pain comes back to haunt him, his new abilities come into play and he must learn to control them.

Rescued by Henrik in the heat of battle, Cosmina must decide whether to trust the assassin who loathes the goddess she serves or face certain death on her own. Forced into an untenable position, Henrik is left with a terrible choice - protect the magical Order he despises, or deny destiny and lose the woman he loves forever.

confusing half sentences and.......

I did not manage to finish this book. I had no idea what was going on! I love the Night fury series but I struggled with the first one in this series and have now given up. Too many words for too little action!

Great except for one small problem.

I love CC' s books. They tick all my boxes. I do have one bit of advice for Ms. c. Please shorten the long drawn out passages of angst your characters think before making decisions. May be cut them in half? The mental deliberation is good character building but too much in each case kills the feel of the whole passage and makes the reader want to shout. " ok get on with it!!' Okay I feel better now. When is the next book coming out?'

too much embellishments

too much description - not enough action- describes the same point in the story too many times and for too long

Interesting, but slow

The 2nd half was better than the first? But the entire story seemed to cover a very short period of time and many parts really drug on. I like this author and have read many of her books, but this was just more like a Novella that could have been written with 1/2 the words.

Knight Avenged

Good continuation to the story. It leaves you wondering about the next story to be told. Coming soon, I hope!

Insulting- Didn't make it past first chapter.

The first character, in his inner dialog, is talking about how he is happy someone finally is trying to kill him with his pet viper. In the next few minutes he calls the experience 'mudane'. The two thoughts are in disagreement.

Then the writer insulted a lot of religions by bringing in Jesus, and insulting him.

The reader was okay. She did good with different voices, but had no inflection when reading the story. She might sound better with a different writer.

Only the second book I couldn't finish listening to because of the story.

Great story but the narrator was terrible.

I loved the book but the narrator was terribly distracting. She needs to add more expression to her voice. I hope they get a new narrator if they continue this series.

Amazing

I love to read, and I actually didn't start until 4 years ago. But listening to the story really brings it alive full of emotions and attitude. This book is amazing, I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. The adventure, love and stubbornness in the story keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Steamy and intriguing!

This book had me blushing as I listened while getting groceries. I was grateful that no one had a clue what a steamy book I was enthralled in. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Wow!
