About this listen
Take a road trip with a small-town mechanic and a prince on the run in the Kings of Carolina Box Set, featuring:
Between a Rock and a Royal (Book 1)
Blue Bloods and Backroads (Book 2)
Between a Rock and a Royal: A foreign prince on the run, a local girl in a serious jam, and a '65 Mustang headed for Georgia. What could go wrong?
Leo: How my brother talked me into ditching our security team and embarking on this ridiculous adventure, I haven't a clue. But it's my duty to keep the idiot safe - something made even more difficult now that we're stranded in the middle of nowhere with a local mechanic as our only hope. But this wrench-wielding beauty has problems of her own and a smile that might make me forget my obligations entirely.
Ruby: With one look at Leo Baxter, I know down to my cherry-painted toenails that he and his pain-in-the ass brother are nothing but trouble. Given my family's dire circumstances, however, I've got little choice but to take these rich country-club rejects up on their offer. A fat stack of cash in exchange for a ride through the mountains. How bad could it be?
Blue Bloods and Backroads: The conclusion of Ruby and Leo's story...
Books 1 and 2 cover Ruby and Leo's entire hot and hilarious story. And, of course, it comes with an HEA!

Fun
I enjoyed listening to Meagan Moses.
I am very happy that I was had both books in one. I do not like waiting for a long to resolve a cliffhanger. So Ruby takes a ride to help save her cousin. That is just the beginning. We are taken on a fun and very humorous ride. I found myself laughing out loud, and its so good to find a book that allows you to laugh. You will find many moments like this.
You have romance and comedy , a perfect listen to .

Royalty and the Mechanic
Thank goodness I listened to these books together because the story is not finished at the end of book one, Between a Rock and a Royal. Ruby, a mechanic, has asked her shady ex for bail money for her criminal cousin. So when twins Malcolm & Leo offer her 10 thousand dollars to take them on a road trip, she can't say no. It's Malcolm's last hurrah before he settles into his new government job. Leo & Ruby get close but he's been burned before. These characters get into hilarious situations. Meagan Moses did a great job of narrating Ruby's Southern accent & the Baxter brothers’ English accent.
Book 2, Blue Bloods and Backroads, finishes off the story of Ruby & Leo. It's such a great cast of characters-Ruby, Leo, and Malcolm have been joined by Alice. Alice is a straight-laced fixer but let’s down her hair with Ruby. Ruby is a down-to-earth, take no crap woman. I loved the way Meagan brought her to life. Plot was exciting & tied up nicely, great characters, and am looking forward to Alice finding her place in the world.
I was gifted this audiobook by the author. This is my honest opinion, voluntarily provided.

Funny and sweet duet
I really enjoyed this duet (more so because they were together and I didn't have to wait after the cliffhanger of the first book). In this book, Leo, a prince, is following his brother and King-to-be, Malcolm as Malcolm sows his royal oats before he becomes king (the current king, their father, is ill). Malcolm doesn't want to be king yet and therefore, is putting obstacles in front of Leo, who tends to be more strict and inflexible.
Ruby, on the other hand, is adorable and strong, funny and loyal. She is trying to help her uncle get her cousin back; her cousin is a druggie and therefore, doesn't want to be found (ugh). The meet between Malcolm, Leo and Ruby was funny although it took a while to get there because the author spent some time to let the readers get to know each character prior to the meet. Overall, this was a well paced book detailing the romance between two very different characters, both of whom had to reconcile who they were with who they could be together. This book also sets up the future story for Malcolm and the supporting characters are really fun and add to the story and world building. I think that there were some parts that were a little slower but overall, i enjoyed getting to know each character.
I requested and received the audiobook and really was quite impressed with Meagan Moses; this is the first book i've heard. She was able to switch seamlessly between a beautiful English accent and a Southern accent and did a pretty good job playing male and female characters. Since there is a dual POV, a male narrator would have been great but I think that Meagan Moses did an amazing job generally.

the best way to read this duet
I love when I do not have to wait too long to resolve a cliffhanger. Reading this duet back to back was the best way to keep the story flowing. Ruby takes a ride to help save her cousin. That is just the beginning. This story takes the reader for a hilarious ride along with Ruby. I love the laugh out loud moments that Sylvie gives us. I am addicted to her laugh out loud moments and this duet certainly delivers plenty of them. There is a sweet romance, but the comedy is what draws me to these light books. It is slow to get started, but worth the wait.
Meagan Moses nails those accents. From the English princes, to the southern charm, Meagan brings these characters to life. I enjoyed listening to her performance. Meagan has an easy to listen to voice and was easy to get lost in. I look forward to more performances from her.

Unfinished!
These two “books” are just two parts of a story, which relies overly much on repetition by some amazingly ridiculous characters, and they finish with the end nowhere in sight. If the whole thing, including the, yet to be released, third part was properly revised and edited it might make one more enjoyable book
