Summary

A novella

But when he's given a trip to a theme park resort as a college graduation present, he can't exactly say no. Even if Samantha - the one girl with the power to dismantle his goals - is tagging along.

Samantha Diederik has managed to avoid her high society mother’s manipulations since the woman moved to Europe. Now she’s back and pressuring Sam to move to New York with her. With that battle on the horizon, Sam proceeds to go on vacation with her brother and his roommate. She’s crushed on Ethan for years. They've only met online, but their hours-long conversations are the highlight of her week. Now she has a chance to find out if the cyber magic she's felt with him will translate to real life. And wow, does it ever - with sparks flying! Now all she has to do is find a way to fight off her mother's machinations while convincing Ethan she won’t destroy his dreams.

Sweet and fun!

Kings Crossed Lovers is a sweet romance that I thoroughly enjoyed! Though the 4th book in the series, I easily read this as a standalone. Ethan and Sam have been online friends for years. When a chance to vacation together with Sam's brother arises, they both g. But will their online spark translate to real life? There are few things I truly loved about this story. First, the art of technology today infused in the story is so lifelike. Having kids that use facetime and skype as a way of communication, the relationship that Ethan and Samantha had prior to actually meeting is very believable to me. I also loved their connection with the books they read, and subsequently the amusement park they went to. It is a theme our family loves and it made the listen a real pleasure. I think this is a fun story, with a slow burn, a little angst and some self awareness and personal growth. Vicki Pierce does a wonderful job with the narration and it is an enjoyable listen.

Kings Crossed Lovers

Although this is book 4 in a series, I was able to listen to this as a stand-alone with no problem. I really enjoyed this book and seeing how a relationship can grow from just video chats before even meeting someone in person. Ethan and Sam are so cute together, especially when their book nerdiness comes into play at the amusement park. The narration was fantastic in this book too. Probably one of the most realistic southern accents I’ve heard he narrated before (speaking from a southerner herself). I am excited to see what else this narrator and author have available.

ENCHANTING

Vickie Pierce did a wonderful job in narrating a wonderful enchanting story. I have read the book but wanted to hear the story read to see if I would hear what I did when I had read inside my head. I was not disappointed. Donna Weaver, does not disappoint again in this enchanting story of finding true love and letting nothing stand in the way of it.

Samantha and Ethan

Kings Crossed Lovers is a love story about two people Ethan and Samantha who are lovers of a particular set of books featuring magical characters. The bulk of the story is set in a theme park for wizards. Anyone reading this story will know which books the theme park is based on as the story is filled with Harry Potter references so if there are any people out there who have never read those books the fantasy will fall a little flat. We meet again some of the great characters she had previously introduced in her Safe Harbor Series. While Kings Crossed Lovers can stand alone as a great story, knowing a little of the backstory of the characters added to my enjoyment of this story.

Samantha and Ethan, who is Samantha's brother's best friend,
have been chatting online via facetime or similar for at least a year and Samantha has convinced herself that she is already in love with Ethan. When they finally meet in real life their attraction for each other grows, but alas so do their personal problems. She is battling her mother (a thoroughly nasty piece of work) and he is battling his feelings of not being as good as his brother.

Love of family is vital and forms a big part of King’s Crossed Lovers it was all about love and acceptance and showed that your natural parents aren't always the best, sometimes step-parents and step-siblings are.

Sweet romance is not my favorite genre but I have enjoyed the books in The Safe Harbours series. The narration of this story by Vicki Pierce is very well done and added to my enjoyment of this book.

I own the eBook and was given a copy of the audiobook as a gift and I am voluntarily writing my review.

Will crushing on her brother's roommate be magic?

She got to know her brother's roommate when he was in the background of her videoconferencing with her brother. She has never met him in person, but, he seems to be as big a geek as her. What will she find when she finally meets shim in person? This is a sweet romance of people who have suffered some abuse in their backgrounds, now finding love and support. The characters were interesting and not just one dimensional, but well developed. The narration of this book was great with the narrator doing a wonderful job of performing a variety of voices. A good book for light reading.

Finding love and support

This was a great story. I read the book when it came out, but listening to it brought out more of the story that I didn't get the first time around. The narrator did a wonderful job of keeping the voices all separated and understandable. Her voice was calm and great to listen to. Samantha has finally found her little niche in the fashion/art world when her mother returns to destroy her peace. I liked the tension that Sam's mother creates in the story. It helped see the development of the characters. Ethan has his future all planned out and when he finally meets Sam face-to-face for the first time that plan starts to wobble. I love seeing how they each support one another and how they work through their personal issues. The couple comes together and the sparks flew and their common love for a fantasy book series just added to their charm. I recommend this book to those that love sweet, clean romance.

Embrace your inner geek

Samantha has gotten to know Ethan, her step-brother’s roommate, through her regular online chats with her step-brother. They have a lot in common and have both developed feelings for each other. With the opportunity to go on the vacation of a lifetime to a wizarding themed park together, will they pursue the connection they both feel, or go their separate ways?

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Samantha & Ethan

Samantha and Ethan met through her brother and have the chance to finally meet in person while enjoying several days at an amusement park. Sam hopes her attraction to Ethan will work out in person. Both have family issues to deal with, as well as future plans. My hesitancy for rating this a 3 or 4 is because of Sam and her manipulative, abuse mother. She is an adult, already been through counseling from the abuse, and she continues to entertain her mother's demands. The narrator was good with the accents. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Just Okay

I was looking forward to this story as I have really enjoyed all the other books I have read or listened to by this author, however this one just didn’t do it for me. Though the story was really well written, as usual, I couldn’t connect with the characters or the storyline. Others may enjoy a theme park setting (Harry Potter style) , I just felt the couple was little too old for it. The narrator did do an excellent job wth the narration. I was given a free copy for an honest review.
