Summary

The fight for survival continues in book 2 of the Catalyst series.

A murderous army, an unspeakable plague and an approaching hurricane. One man will risk it all to save his community. Cities, nations, and governments lie in ruins and billions have perished. In the wake of a global apocalypse, survival has become a way of life in a world that seems intent on wiping them all out.

Among the survivors are Scott Montgomery and his friends on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. They have struggled to hang on better than most. But growing threats - both man-made and natural - leave their chances on a razor's edge. Now with the help of uncertain alliances they must face a new danger none of them saw coming. This group, "The Messengers", are like a biblical plague, destroying everything - and everyone - in their path.

Time is short for the survivors and another grim new discovery means the Messengers may not be the only thing they should fear.

Don’t miss out on the second installment of the best-selling Catalyst series.

Talk about seeing the big picture!

Was lovely to receive this as a gift and it certainly didn’t disappoint. As with the first book this one keeps me wanting more.

A few nights I had to shake my phone to restart timer as it left me hanging and couldn’t wait to listen.

Great characters and some new ones as the plot thickens - putting it simply.
A lot of hairy moments and the author doesn’t pull his punches.

I need next book asap and my brains already ticking on what’s to come.

Great survival story telling

This series keeps getting better. A great story with twists and survival scenarios throughout. It expands on the first book with new story line. Another good listen for any post apocalyptic fans.

Superb

This second instalment just gets better and better. You really fee a connection with the characters and gain a vivid image of each one. You can visualise mannerisms and expression. Such a great story beautifully written

Another great book in this series

We get to learn more about what is going on in the world bit by bit but not too much. Building on the foundations of the events and character development in the first book Kingdoms of Sorrow continues on with everything that made the first book great the writing and narration are still on form keeping me engaged in the events through the lens of the characters, This story has great characters with that you could believe are real people due to the depths and wonderful voices they each have.

Now whether this book is a good at the first is very much a matter of personal taste. The story moves a bit away from the more down to earth dealing with the end of the world story from the first book upping the ante with larger battles, evil cults, the bioweapon etc. Now all this either means the book is more exciting and interesting or it is less believable and engaging depending on your personal taste. I liked it and I think this series of books would make a good TV show.

I enjoyed listening to this book and can recommend it if you have listened to or read the first book. I can not wait to find out what happens next.
