Summary

What's the connection between a dig in Alexandria for Alexander the Great's tomb and a wanted Nazi war criminal? Nina and Eddie are about to find out as they go on a search across the globe, from Egypt to Argentina and Italy to Iran, to find the truth.

They have located the most exciting archaeological treasures the world has ever known - they have found Atlantis and walked in the Garden of Eden, they have wielded Excalibur and seen the vast sums of gold in El Dorado. Could they now be about to find the greatest prize of all - the secret to eternal life?

Full of his trademark action, thrills and humour, this is Andy McDermott's most exciting novel to date and marks the 10th novel featuring his brilliant series leads, Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase.

Glitches!

Barely half way through but struggling with this book due to a few issues. The narrator isn’t Simon Mattacks as advertised - which is a shame. The narrator is pleasant but the dialogue isn’t good and the characters accents get muddled and on occasion sound drunk. Also edit wise there are several glitches. Major glitch was the repetition of the chase in LA. After eventually finding the correct chapter there were a few less than smooth edits. So I am nearly half way through really wanting to get to the end of this instalment of Wilde & Chase’s adventures.... but not enjoying it.
Can we get Simon Mattacks to narrate the whole series please..?
Other than the glitches the story so far is a continuation of Nina & Eddie’s adventures... & if you are used to the format & previous books then this is just as enjoyable & intriguing....

Where is Simon Mattacks

I haven't finished the second chapter yet as the accents are horrific, I just can't listen anymore, this is not Simon who has narrated most of these titles, I also could not bear the strange american accents by Gareth so read his narrated titles myself and was excited that Simon was back for this one...but though his name is listed... it is not him!!

Please return to using Simon, the characters all have his voices for me. Their personalities shine though with him, all their quirks and traits. I love having them narrated as I'm usually too busy to hold a book but don't want to miss out on the rest of these adventures!!

Action, adventure, lost treasure; a great read

As the first of my Audible books I knew this was a safe choice after reading the previous ones in paperback. It lived up to my expectations and well worth the listen. Good narrator too and got used to the accents being a little off - forgot about it by halfway through. Playback was fine for me so either it's been fixed or it was other reviewers devices not this book.

Poor not to the usual standard

Really struggling with the writing and narration in this one. I'm not sure whether to continue with the series now.
Story isnt the best this time and the action at the end goes on and on ends up being a garbled mess

Best of the series so far.

Nigel Carrington narrating not the usually excellent Simon Mattacks. His narration was fantastic, really bringing the story to life.

Another adventure

I have thoroughly enjoyed the series and wasn’t disappointed with this adventure, (which was slightly predictable). The only thing that I had some issues was with the change of narrator; who in his own rights was good but didn’t quite capture the northern accent of Eddy (which I found added a mildly comedic element).
Will still be getting the next audiobook in the series.

suspense all the way.

It was as usual hard to stop listening and although you know what may happen next there are always shock surprises.
