Summary

Set in R.S. Belcher's urban fantasy Nightwise universe, the Brotherhood of the Wheel returns to explore the haunted byways and truck stops of the US Interstate Highway System in King of the Road.

Jimmie Aussapile, Lovina Marcou, and Heck Sinclair are members of a secret society dedicated to protecting those who travel America's highways from the monsters, both supernatural and mundane, that lurk in the darkness just beyond your headlights. They are the Brotherhood of the Wheel.

At home in Lenoir, North Carolina, Jimmie and his squire Heck find themselves drawn into an all-out war between two competing biker gangs. One is led by a rival biker in possession of new found supernatural allies, and the other is an all-female werewolf pack.

Meanwhile, Lovina is drawn into a missing-person case that leads to a Pennsylvania trailer park seemingly haunted by killer clowns.

One way or another, peace must be maintained, and the many roads of America must be protected. But it might just cost the Brotherhood their souls if they aren't careful.

The Wheel Turns...

I have never reviewed a book before. And do not plan on starting now. I just loved this book and the first one. It’s creepy and just fun. To me it’s Sons of Anarchy meets X-Files with a little Stephen King all mixed together. There is one baddie who reminds me of The Dark Man Randel Flag. And a gang of Pennywise / Violent Jay/Shaggy 2 Dope wannabes. Put don’t let that stop you. I can’t wait for the next book. The Wheel Turns...

Worth the wait

I loved this second installment of Brotherhood of the Wheel. Alert to potential readers, it is dark, grim and gruesome at times. I don't usually read books of this variety, but this series has captured my attention and I had a hard time putting both books of the series aside until I was finished with them. The character and plot development are really outstanding.

A note on the narration, I wish the narrator and the author would give up the mixed Scottish/southern accent for Hector Sinclair. The book may read on paper differently, but in the audio version the attempt to mix the two accents is not successful and ends up distracting from the character himself.

Bring on Book 3, I'll be waiting!

Thrilling!

I can’t put this book away. The adventures of Hec, Jimmy, Lovena, and Max continue as the group continues to thwart evil and expose corruption throughout their organization. Lots of action and creepy goodness, Belcher never disappoints.

Lots of heart

This book is all about how to be the best human you can be in spite and despite the worst the universe can throw at you. Pinchot is just awesome.

The wheel turns...

Another wonderful installment by Belcher. Series continuity and continuation both excellent. Bronson Pinchot's gift of so many amazing voices continues to impress. Ready for the next one!

YEEEESSSSSS!!!!

I'm not a reviewer that is going to go thru the whole story and make my comments. I dont feel the need to write a 7 paragraph review. That being said, I've been waiting 2 YEARS FOR THIS BOOK!!!! After I found Brotherhood , I became hooked and have listened to everything RS has put out thus far! Do yourself a favor and use a credit on anyone of his books. You will not be disappointed!

Doesn't this author do any RESEARCH??

I'm less that two hours into this, but this is killing me. one of the characters gets shot with a "Glock 44".

GLOCK DOES NOT MAKE A .44 OF ANY SORT!!!

They make .380's, 9mm's, 10mm's, .357 Sig's, 45 ACP's, 40S&W's, 45 GAP's but they DON'T make a friggin' 44!!!

I'm happily into the story when I hear THAT BS, which yanks me right out of any sort of enjoyment and POs me enough to write this review.

please... for the sake of your readers who DO know something about guns... do a little research FIRST. Make it a S&W 44, a Colt, a Ruger, hell, even a CHARTER ARMS (they make a .44 special wheelgun), but for the sake of John Moses Browning, make sure that the company you're naming MAKES ONE!!!

Almost listened to it again right away

This is the first book I ever almost started over as soon as I finished it. I know one complaint is that there is so much going on. There is a lot going on, lots of characters, lots of stories but, it worked for me. I always felt like I needed a white board when reading Game of Thrones, this book did not have that many characters/stories. It also still blows my mind that this is Bronson Pinchot narrating. He does an amazing job. I like the Brotherhood of the Wheel better than the Nightwise series but, I really like the Nightwise series.

The Brotherhood is Back!!

This series has really grown on me. I bought "Brother of the Wheel" as an impulse buy & really enjoyed it. I've enjoyed the character growth of Heck & Max. I am really curious to see where Mr. Belcher is going to take them. There were a lot of threads of story & a slew of characters & I wondered how everything would tie together, again Mr. Belcher does a wonderful job mixing the supernatural with highways, byways & now the rail. I even loved the Laytham Ballard reference. I do hope that we won't have to wait too, too long for the next installment. I would also love to create a playlist for all the music that is used in both book.
