Summary

She’s on a desperate quest to protect her family. But will defending them save the planet or result in her doom?

Alyx Silverthorne’s broken world is falling apart. With her parents dead and her little brother Tommy infected with a zombie virus, she fears she’s about to lose everything that matters. But when her beloved sibling dies and returns to life stronger than before, their only choice is a dangerous cross-country journey to the capital for answers.

Teaming up with her deserter uncle and the best friend in love with her, they arrive at a secret military base wondering if Tommy is, in fact, the cure. But the affection of a strapping young soldier is cold comfort when his sinister commander takes a terrifying interest in her family.

Will Alyx survive the lies of the living or be consumed by the mouths of the dead?

Kill or Cure is the gut-wrenching first book in the Kill or Cure post-apocalyptic dystopian teen fiction series. If you like feisty young heroines, struggles against chaos, and teenage love, then you’ll adore Pixie Britton’s action-packed trilogy.

Praise for Kill or Cure

“A dynamic, multi-faceted story of teenage love and gut-wrenching loss in a dystopian world." (Books Monthly)

"This isn't your stereotypical run of the mill, zombie apocalypse novel. Pixie Britton takes the zombie genre and gives it her own thrilling unique twist. It's captivating without being cliché and stays unpredictable." (Readers Enjoy Authors Dreams)

"Kill or Cure is a different and exciting take on the genre. There's not a generic zombie survival character in sight. We are dealing with real people with emotions, and the sense of loss and danger is tangible throughout the entire book." (Gallifreyan Buccaneer)

"This is a genre that has been done in a million different ways for a million different readers, and one is hard-pressed to find a book that is a little different or offers something new. I’m thrilled (and relieved) to say that this book does that in addition to being entertaining and well-written." (Reads and Reels)

"There are times when your heart is in your throat, just hoping things will turn out right. A great young adult dystopian story." (The Faerie Review)

"I love when I pick up a book and can get sucked in from the very first chapter. This is when I realize that I will finish it quickly, because all I want to do is keep reading until the end. This is what this book had done for me, and I loved it!" (Nightly Reading)

The total cure for a zombie thrill!

I absolutely loved reading the book! Pixie Britton is a fantastic writer with terrific characters! the audio is also spectacular! Read by the amazing Shakira Shute who voices the Incredible Alyx.. the lead character of the series.

The intensity of listening to this fantastic audio will leave you a actual zombie bite! The chills & thrills of every voice character is absolutely mind blowing by Shakira Shute.. bringing Pixie’s phenomenal work to a new level. & I’m really looking forward to hearing the 2nd book.

Please do give both these fantastic talented duo a like on Facebook & Instagram! :)

Can't wait for Book 2 on Audio!

Such a great story! I've been listening to it in only a few sessions (whilst redecorating my bedroom lol) and it was so captivating! Even though I've read all three kindle books before (a while back though), it was a totally different and new experience to listen to it instead of reading it. Loved it. Shakira's voice is so soothing and totally became Alyx' voice in my head now. She really made the action come alive. Cannot wait for book 2 to be released on audio. Seriously if you haven't read this trilogy yet, do it. Do it now! And if you have, then I dare you to re-experience it all over again with Shakira's brilliant narration. 5 stars (if I could give more I would haha)!

Great dystopian novel

The book follows Alyx, Joe, Will and Tommy as they are in a dystopian future where a plague has made people infected. The group live in a walled commune and we start off with Tommy being infected and them all running away from the village before they are killed. They have to avoid the infected who can infect by biting and get to another walled village before getting killed. Even when at the next village they are not safe and have to fight for their lives.

I really hope there is a book 2 in this series As it is a great book which could go so much further.

A beautiful, calm voice, easily portraying the depth of emotion in this great story. With zombies, struggles to survive, enemies, love interests this story has it all
