Summary
Will a virgin captive surrender to this pirate's sinful touch?
Nathaniel Bainbridge is used to hiding, whether it's concealing his struggles with reading or his forbidden desire for men. Under the thumb of his controlling father, the governor of Primrose Isle, he's sailing to the fledging colony, where he'll surrender to a respectable marriage for his family's financial gain. Then pirates strike and he's kidnapped for ransom by the Sea Hawk, a legendary villain of the New World.
Bitter and jaded, Hawk harbors futile dreams of leaving the sea for a quiet life, but men like him don't deserve peace. He has a score to settle with Nathaniel's father - the very man whose treachery forced him into piracy - and he's sure Nathaniel is just as contemptible.
Yet as days pass in close quarters, Nathaniel's feisty spirit and alluring innocence beguile and bewitch. Although Hawk knows he must keep his distance, the desire to teach Nathaniel the pleasure men can share grows uncontrollable. It's not as though Hawk would ever feel anything for him besides lust....
Nathaniel realizes the fearsome Sea Hawk's reputation is largely invented, and he sees the lonely man beneath the myth, willingly surrendering to his captor body and soul. As a pirate's prisoner, he is finally free to be his true self. The crew has been promised the ransom Nathaniel will bring, yet as danger mounts and the time nears to give him up, Hawk's biggest battle could be with his own heart.

brilliant!
have to say that I'm not a massive fan of historical fiction , but since this was written by Kiera Andrews, one of my favourites, I couldn't wait to get my grubby little hands on it. I must say that I absolutely loved it! The story was brilliant! But what really made it for me was the two MCs, sweet and naive Nathaniel and Big Bad Hawk. I fell in love with them both, but Nathaniel stole the show. He was an absolute delight to read, the way his character developed throughout the book was so satisfying. He is one of the nicest, sweetest, funniest, entertaining, congenial, captivating heroes I think I've ever come across. The way he handled crusty old Hawk, whose vulnerability where Nathaniel was concerned was endearing , was as charming as it was masterful. The story was exciting and certainly swashbuckling, as it should have been, pirates and all that, but these two stood out as the show stoppers. In every scene together, they sizzled, and were perfect for one another. There is a big age difference, but it worked well, Hawk's experience and jaded personality being off set by Nathaniel 's youth, charm and enthusiasm. I don't want to give away any of the story, you really need to listen to it, I can't recommend this enough. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could.

Nothing swashbuckling here
As a narrator driven audiophile, I blame Cornell Collins for leading me to this piece of mind numbing anaesthesia. I almost lost it when the virgin protagonist waxed lyrical about cows getting it on. Not. My. Cup. of. Tea. CC is a narrator guaranteed to unlock my credit but l did not expect him to bring out pirate vocals from a cartoon - arr and OMFG all? Mind, he evoked the pirate life so love it or hate it (l hated it), Mr Collins knows how to tell a story.

A fun listen
There are no surprises in the plot, the characters are cliché & the dialogue is completely corny but I honestly didn't care as this was just a fun, escapist listen that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish.

Swashbuckling fabulousness!
Thoroughly enjoyable swashbuckling romp on the high seas. As always with Ms Andrews' books the romance is sweet, the sex is hot and the story gripping.
Loved the narration by Cornell Collins.

Great Story and Well Narrated
Great story and well narrated but I can’t cope with the way the narrator voices Captain Hawk 😅. Sounds much older than someone in their early 40’s. Other than that, loved it!

Indulgent steamy adventure
This book was very spicy and adventurous. Heavier on the steaminess once that element was introduced to the storyline. The pirate captain also became intellectually felt out by his captive as they plundered the high seas, and each other. Pure indulgent romantic and naughty escapism in this story. The conflict was intense too, regarding a fool of a father. My only complaint is the accent for Hawk that the narrator portrayed. It was very farmer and hard to picture a handsome rogue pirate with such a dopey accent. Otherwise this one is high on the mature themes, and the adventurous plot flows into their lust and love nicely.

Ahoy! Mateys Mating!
I really liked this sweet tale of opposites attracting. Action and romance with a good ending. And a great narrator in Cornell Collins.
