Summary

Lark Wainright, 23, has nightmares. She used to be fearless. But while overseas for her nonprofit employer, she was kidnapped and held at gunpoint in a dusty shack. Everyone has an opinion about what might have happened to her there, but she's not saying much. She's too consumed by guilt to talk about it.

When her best friend offers her a stay at the Shipley orchard in exchange for help at the farmers' markets, Lark jumps into her little car and heads to Vermont. Unfortunately, the night terrors don't stop. Desperate to keep her fragile state a secret from those who know her best, she relies on the most soft-spoken resident of Orange County, Vermont, to calm her down when her dreams prove too much.

Zachariah, 23, is a survivor of a different kind. It's been three years since he was tossed aside by the polygamist cult out west, the only home he'd ever known. In Vermont, he's found a peaceful place in the bunkhouse at the Shipley's farm. He's good with animals, and he's good with his hands. But getting thrown away by your own people at 19 leaves a mark on a guy. And he doesn't always know what to make of a world where apps and movie quotes are the primary means of communication. Before hitchhiking to Vermont, he'd never watched television. He'd never spoken on the phone.

Actually, there are still a lot of things he's never done.

Zach and Lark slowly grow to trust one another. One night they become even closer than they'd planned. But Lark may still be too broken to trust anyone. When she shoves Zach away, he will have to prove to himself that he's good for more than farm labor.

Perfect story and Perfect Narration! Loved it!

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! Zach melted my heart and Lark was so perfectly matched for him! This series has been awesome from book 1. I thought book 1 was my favorite, then book 2 came out and became my favorite now book 3 has blown them both out of the water! Most series don't get better and better with every book but this author is great and out doing her last book every time!

Zach lived a very sheltered life, he is hard working, shy and came out of it all perfectly balanced. Lark lived a normal life until something happened to her that has broken her and made her retreat into her fears. Together these two find a way to be exactly what the other needs. I love that they are so honest with each other. I also love how this family/adopted family all take care of each other, they are all very considerate and caring with each other and it makes my heart happy with every book. I can't wait for the next book but I honestly don't think it ill be able to move Keepsake into 2nd place on my LOVE list for this series.

The narration was perfect. They were both cast perfectly for these characters.

Great story and narration makes this a favorite of the year!

This was my favorite book of the True North series from Ms Bowen, the story line dealt with difficult traumatic pasts and she wrote it masterfully revealing raw and beautiful strong characters. Erin Spence and Teddy Hamilton's voice performance are excellent. A favorite of this year so far!

Fantastic - such a beautiful, sweet story

Would you consider the audio edition of Keepsake to be better than the print version?

I love how the narrators bring the story to life. They did a wonderful job here. It is a sweet, sweet love story that is extremely well narrated.

What did you like best about this story?

I really loved the characters - especially Zach. We know him from the previous two books in this series and it is great to finally get his POV. I love how Sarina lets us visit with old friends in her books and introduces some new ones each time. I hope she continues the series. Now, if we need a Ivy League/Brooklyn Bruisers/True North crossover. I would love to see one of those hockey players end up in Vermont!!! Sarina Bowen is the best.

What about Erin Spencer and Teddy Hamilton ’s performance did you like?

When it comes to audiobooks, the voices performances are EVERYTHING. Erin Spencer and Teddy Hamilton are amazing. I loved Teddy from HIM and he does just as good a job in this book. I'm usually really picky about the female voice performance, but Erin did a great job. They make the story so much more than words on the page, they get right into my head and live the characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me smile and laugh and even giggle in a few places. It has some serious moments too, and all were well done.

Any additional comments?

I hope Audible brings more of Sarina Bowen's books to audio. She writes such terrific stories.

LOVED LOVED LOVED

I absolutely adored this series. I thought my favourite was Griff (from book 1) but then I got to know Zach. He must be the most lovable book boyfriend EVER. What a great addition to an already great series. I loved this book.

I really have enjoyed the books I've read by Sarina Bowen. I am going to make sure that I read/listen to all her other books in the near future.

As for the narrators, I loved them! Both of these narrators are new to me and I definitely intend to listen to other work by them.

This was really good

Finally a love story that is more than 'I see her, Im horny... I see him, I'm horny'

It seems like a lot of the 'love stories' ive been reading belong more in the erotica section. This book however, is about more and actually made me feel things emotionally. Its written well and performed well. I like both of the main characters and the support characters. I will read more by this author because many of the other books are pretty much the same lately.

Tough horney woman meets man..clash, bam, drama, bam done.

Another thing I liked about this book, she was able to make the male character loving but in no way feminine or weak. Really well rounded book :)

Loved It!

Lark & Zach

I was sooo happy we get Zach’s story. I loved it, I loved how he seems to have it all together but he is scared. I liked that he didn’t even realize how much he is a part of the Shipley’s family. But when he finally realizes it... I had a tear I can’t help it. This big strong man just needed love.

Ahh Lark, this girl has some demons to get passed and Zach really is the right man for the job. He never pitied her I really liked that he just want to ease some of her pain.
They kind of eased each others, I think.

I very much liked May and I was a little shocked by her coming out if you will. But I am so happy no one makes a big deal about it. I loved that they just accepted her for who she is no questions asked.

I say loved a lot in this review and that’s just because I really enjoyed it.

Great narration as always. I mean hello it is Teddy enough said.

All the love for Zachariah!

Reading Keepsake made me want to go back and revisit, again, my favorites Josh and Caleb from Goodbye Paradise! And I do believe I'll do that, as soon as I finish the Ture North series.
I adored Zach- he's so sweet and precious and a really wonderful guy. He's such a hard worker- it made me sad when he worried about the Shipley's not needing him any longer, about being thrown out of somehere again. I hate those folks at Paradise Ranch!
My heart hurt for Lark, for everything she had gone through. Ms. Bowen did a nice job of building us up to her story-I was waiting for her to finally break, and when she did, wow. I can't imagine going through what she did and not breaking, I can completely understand where her feelings of guilt were coming from.
Zach deserved all the happiness and I thought he and Lark were a great match. Even though she pulled a stupid stunt, I felt like she was a good match for him, even as opposite as they were. I loved that she never looked down at him or made him feel less about himself because of where he came from and how he was raised.
I'm so glad in this book we got a bit of an epilogue- it was nice to see how things were going for them a little down the road!

I love the Shipley family and how they rally around their people. I can't wait to move onto the next book.

I really enjoyed the narration in this book, both Erin Spencer and Teddy Hamilton were great! I mean, Teddy can do no wrong in my ears! He was the perfect casting for Zachariah- he just has that wonderful vulnerable quality to his voice. (I wish he had been the narrator for Jude's character.)

BEST BEST BOOK EVER!!!!

You know how you’ve said that you didn’t want a book to end..well apparently I REALLY didn’t want this one to end. I stopped reading it twice to read other books, just so I could go back to it. The story, the family, the farm, everything about it pulled me in and kept me wanting more. Teddy Hamilton is one of the best narrators in the business, so I was especially happy that he was the one performing this story. I know I’ll be rereading this book again and again!!
