GREAT WEREWOLF/REVERSE HAREM LISTEN!

This review is for both books. I loved this book. I'm looking forward to continuing this series. All the characters are great. I love the slow burn and how the relationship between Kitten and her 8 men starts to build. The book is entertaining and held my attention.

30% Expectation, 70% disappointment

Well. This was a bummer.

Have you ever read/listened to a story and could TELL that the author struggled to write or finish the book? This is exactly what happened and it’s so easy to tell. :/ The first 30% read like Book 1. I really enjoyed Book 1. Once the MC’s returned home the author rushed the rest of the story. Period. It lost the tone of the first book, almost as if someone else had written it.

Oh.

And if I hear the term “love button” one more damn time...

I cringed so hard when the FMC started having sex. The words used for private parts made me want to scream it was so insanely juvenile. It was also very poor character writing as the main character went from an abused virgin to a sex pro.

Basically, every “squick” someone has that can be put into a book (a word you hate, weak character, bad content, etc) is in the last 70% of the book. And it felt a bit like whiplash because Book 1 and the beginning of this one all had the same tone and was very enjoyable.

I heard the author is struggling to write book 3 as well. I just can’t do it. I won’t be reading the third book unless I’m told it is written like Book 1.

I really tried but this book just felt downright wrong

The first book intrigued me so I kept listening. However, the complete naïveté of the main character just was not believable. Also, when her physical
relationships with the men heat up, it almost feels inappropriate because of just how inexperienced she is. I just couldn’t get into it. The male narrator was good, but the female narrator was robotic to me. The naive heroin who is all virginal and innocent just doesn’t work here. Also, let’s have more female characters who know their sexuality and own it. This whole thing just feels wrong and forced.
