This author really knows how to write truly awful characters. Second book I’ve read by him and I don’t think I’ll read any more. The characters are hateful and infuriating. Nothing redeeming at all about them.
But I don’t deny this story kept me totally hooked because I just needed to know the twists!
But if you are looking for a satisfying ending - this author is not the place to find it!

Incredibly dark themes and horrible characters

Not my first John Marrs, but this one was a bit dark... Characters well-formed, only one half- decent adult amongst them (no spoilers but they don't appear till towards the end)... Interesting to have an author touch on such uncomfortable subjects and conditions, but well done. Narration OK.. could have been better.
