Summary

Is your team always stressed out? Are the priorities set by your management unclear? Are you unsure of what every member of the team is working on? If the answer to any of the above questions is yes, then this book will guide you to success.

Kanban is a tool that helps teams and organizations concentrate on work and create a shared focus across different departments. It was developed by Taiichi Ohno in the late 1940s to improve the work done by the manufacturing department in Toyota. David Anderson defined the method when he used the tool to improve software development in the IT industry. It is becoming a popular way to visualize the workflow and also limit any work-in-progress items in different industries.

Teams and organizations around the world are using Kanban to deliver better business and catalyze change in culture and style of work.

Over the course of the book, you will gather information on:

  • What is Kanban?
  • The principles and practices underlying the tool and how they impact the management.
  • Benefits of using Kanban.
  • How project management can be improved using Kanban.
  • How Kanban can be used in different systems.
  • How the full value chain can be improved using Kanban.
  • How Kanban improves work in a back office.
  • How teams can forecast their workflow using Kanban.

Kanban may seem easy in theory, but can become tangled when implemented by teams. This book will simplify and help you understand how Kanban can be used in different departments to improve the overall quality and productivity of the team.

If you wish to eradicate any challenges that come in your team’s way to achieve productivity, this book will be your go – to guide. So what are you waiting for?

An incredible listen

A book that I will keep coming back to over and over again - it is the most comprehensive I have read on the subject. It's a little dry in places but all in all, a must have reference manual for those who want to get the most out of Kanban as an approach to transformation or continuous improvement. You will find the answers you need here!

Incredibly useful

It provides useful summaries of each, as well as recommended reading for deeper understanding. This should be extremely helpful for those who might otherwise see all these ideas as mutually exclusive - and confusing.

Appreciate book

It's great for explaining why kanban works. But not everyone can easily synthesize from it how they can get started applying this approach.

Awesome bundle

If you only have time to read one book about Kanban, make it this one. If you've been trying to use Kanban in your organization and you've been struggling with it, this book could clarify it for you.

Direct and to the point

Real-World Kanban is a hidden gem of the Kanban literature. It is a collection of four case studies which will give you ideas to experiment on your Kanban initiative.

This is one of my favorite books.

If you are new to Kanban and read this, you will be rewarded. If you are a Kanban expert and read this book, you will find knowledge you won't find anywhere else.

kudos to author!!

I really liked this book. It is short, sweet, and to the point. It tells you all you need to know about Kanban. I also liked that the author included information on using SCRUM with Kanban. This was the first I heard of that.

Valuable Book packed with knowledge!

Only exception was the Lean area. Simultaneously felt repetitive yet shallow. I have sympathy - it's a tough subject. What I did like was that the Kanban section did an excellent job of relating human-oriented process improvement and analysis.
