In Just Because You Exist, Monts walks readers through twelve lectio divina-inspired meditations on Jesus’ encounters with others in the Gospels, introducing readers to Jesus again, as though for the first time, helping them see themselves in each scene and to believe anew that he loves them for no other reason than that they exist, and with no other conditions at all.
By using the ancient Bible reading practice of lectio divina, which involves prayerful meditation on a Scripture passage and learning to place oneself in the biblical scene, Monts gives readers permission to set aside the worries and distraction of our busy lives and to find rest in Jesus' presence―and to abide in the peace he offers.
