In this incredible sequel to Pandora's Star, the Commonwealth Saga goes out with a bang. Judas Unchained is a stunning, expansive space opera from one of the world's bestselling science fiction writers, Peter F. Hamilton.

Our worlds are under invasion – and only the impossible can save us now . . .

Over hundreds of years, the human race has been manipulated into starting a war. And it's one that could destroy our entire civilization. Chief Investigator Paula Myo is nominated to hunt the creature behind this ploy, while our invasion continues and multiple worlds fall to the enemy. In response, Admiral Kime commands humanity's defense, marshaling war-ready super-weapons. Yet he discovers his adversaries wield equally powerful armaments.

The question is – where did these come from? Has the Commonwealth's top-secret defense project been compromised, or is the truth even worse than we can imagine?

The Commonwealth Saga duology starts with Pandora's Star.

Don't buy this unless you already have the first part. On the other hand, if you have the first part, then this is a must.

Incredible detail - all the loose strings (and some you didn't realise were loose) come together in the end. Great story, told in a very matter-of-fact way tht is very believeable.

Very detailed and compelling

If you have listened to Pandora's Star, this is an absolute must. An epic conclusion to a story, so brilliantly brought to life by Peter F Hamilton.

Sadly, John Lee's narration is by comparison, rather poor. It was serviceable, but certain parts were made confusing by the lack of nuance between characters voices. The audio quality would also change mid sentence. Making it painfully obvious where re recordings had taken place. It didn't break the immersion totally. But the story suffered because of it.

Great story, flawed narration.

The action is these works is at times more confusing then thrilling and some of the broader ideology can seem questionable when scrutinised, but it remains interesting and entertaining. And, while it lacks some of the intrigue and inevitably the 'freshness' of its predecessor, it reaches a mostly satisfying conclusion whilst leaving enough space for desired later expansion of this particular fictional world.

The continuation of a modern classic sci-fi epic.
