Summary

All he did was apply for a job, and then his world was turned upside down.

Thrust into the world he had no idea about, Jordan Sutton’s only goal was to get a job working for Duncan Pryde of Pryde Industries. He thought werewolves, vampires, and faes belonged in fairy tales, not in the real world. What will he do when he finds out there’s more than meets the eye to his boss and his family?

Duncan Pryde had too much going on in his life. He became the sole guardian of his twin niece and nephew along with the addition of his pack and company. He had no time to think about a mate when trouble came to his front door. What happens when the man he hired for one job turns out to be his destined mate? Does he deny what he feels or embrace it?

Loved.

Sean Crisden does his usual excellent work, making every character distinguishable and enjoyable to listen to. Combine this with Giovanna Reaves totally entertaining story and you have 7+Hours of “do not disturb” listening. Loved it and I’m looking forward to the next.

Torn review

I’ve actually never ventured into the kind of story before, so bare with me. Overall I’m super interested in the world build that could take place here. The narrator did an amazing job....why I say I’m torn is there just wasn’t enough to fill in the gaps in the characters. I wish the author would have maybe wrote double the pages they did to give us more depth to Duncan in particular. The story seemed rushed, and I actually loved the over all arc. A lot and I mean a lot of potential with these characters and world . I will read the next one and hope the author continues to build upon it.

Can't Wait Until The Next Installment!👍

I enjoyed listening to this story. From the beginning, to end. This story was very enjoyable and interesting. The characters were well defined. As always GR did an amazing job of bringing each character to life. and his narration was top of the line. I recommend listening to this story instead of reading it yourself. You will not regret it. The story leaves you wanting more. And, because of the cliffhanger I think that's what will get. I cant wait until the continuation of this story!🙂GR pleeeeeeese, write book2 and put it on adubile. I'm chopping at the bits waiting for it!☺

The beginning of a great new shifter series

I don't believe that I have read anything by this author before, but that is an oversite that I plan to correct. This was a good solid start for a series. The characters were interesting and well fleshed out. The writing and pacing were good. And the story was entertaining. It was light and fun in places and serious and full of action in others. I gotta tell you though it's a good thing that paycheque had so many 0's because I would never... Oh right, I don't do spoilers. Read it you will probably enjoy it.

Sean Crisden was his usual gifted self as the narrator of this story.

Promising but half-baked

The author needs a better copy editor. There are far too many errors in idiom, not to mention problems in agreement (pronoun-antecedent and subject-verb), pronoun reference, and parallel structure. The heavy peppering of the dialogue with variations on the “f” word deprives it at last of any power whatever, and it becomes simply verbose.

Overall, good book.

The storyline was a bit lacking, especially towards the end of the book. While well written, the author lacked much-needed detail throughout. Much more time is needed to fully appreciate the many elements brought together by Reaves. Overall, it’s a good book. It just feels as if the last three chapters were rushed - as if Reaves had a deadline to meet, and must go from a sudden war to epilogue. There were many questions left unanswered; hopefully there will be a second book in the series soon, and the reader will be able to pick up where things ended in book one. This is not a typical romance, but was still worth reading twice. The sci-fi and/or mythological aspect of this book made for an interesting twist of fate for Jordan, Duncan, and the other members of the ‘pack.’
