Summary

She wasn't supposed to be the princess I wasn't looking for.

When my father "died" five years ago, I took over the "family business". But when I say business, I really mean secret society. Or cult. Or militia. Hell, let's keep it simple and call it the mob.

It's just not that mob.

It's much darker, much dirtier, and much more dangerous than any old everyday mob.

And I was perfectly fine with my role in life for a long time. But now my brothers are involved, and I need to get them out.

Enter Megan Machette.

When I found her helpless, nearly naked, and chained to a wall on an island prison, I had no intention of being her Prince Charming. But then I found out she had a dirty, dark, dangerous secret that could solve all my family problems.

I was just going to use her. Play her. Tell her everything she wanted to hear.

I never planned on baring my secrets to her in a midnight confession, and I certainly never expected her to see past the dark filth inside my soul and find the man underneath.

But she did.

She wasn't supposed to be the princess I wasn't looking for.

But she is.

And now I will do anything - even use her evil secret to take down thousands of people - to save my brothers and get what I want.

Her.

Johnny features a prince saving his princess from a life of hell, one or 10 romantic gestures from a tattooed bad boy, swimming with glowing dolphins in the Bahamas, and secrets so deep everyone almost drowns. This is Book Three in the series and can be listened to alone, but should be listened to in order.

Includes a special bonus note from the author.

Better and better!

Loved this. Johnny is intriguing and his story filled with so many twists that it would confuse a pretzel! The narration is excellent. Both Savannah Peachwood and Tad Branson capture the narrative and bring it wonderfully to life. Superb 💖💖💖💖💖

A 5 ⭐️ MASTER STORYTELLER AT WORK HERE

Oh Julie Julie Julie, you’re good.. really good.. spectacularly good.. deviously good.. ingeniously good.. creatively craftily and cunningly good - because Johnny’s mystery-filled story was a tightly woven web of sinister secrets, bombshells, twists, revelations, manipulations and a doomed romance. I, like Johnny, didn’t know the hornet’s nest he would stir-up when he rescues Megan while searching for Joey’s ex-girlfriend.. because the only thing he actually got was more complications.. bigger complications.. life-threatening complications.. life-changing complications. And, while his naive agenda is to take down the mysterious Way with its sinister secretive mission, he’s not the only Player.. Megan’s not the only Pawn.. and things are definitely not black and white. Can trust be earned and truth be given between two passionate lovers who are on opposite sides? Who will sacrifice their dreams and themselves for love? Will the Way finally be defeated.. or defended? And who should keep looking over their shoulders?

This story really was a gripping, suspenseful, well-paced whirlwind of artfully placed intriguing clues amongst a smouldering romance.. and the plot-line deviously conceals, slowly reveals and intentionally blows your mind as the addictive, climactic, intense chapters conclude. It’s unique, it’s hot, it’s got sizzling complicated chemistry between two strong-willed fascinating people and there’s new important secondary characters too.. and it had me rooted firmly in its clutches until way past three a.m. as I repeatedly lied to myself with the promise of “just one more”.. “this is the last”.. “five more minutes”. The epic dual POV narration by Savannah and especially Tad brought the characters to life, stirred the senses, inflected and infused the listen with trip-wire tension, gripping suspense and passionate moods.

Worth a credit? Oh boy yes.. I don’t know how you do it Julie, you are a Maestro at weaving imaginative, ingenious, multi-faceted, dramatic plots with mind-blowing twists and turns mixed in with stormy sizzling relationships and the results are always brilliant. You had me on the edge-of-my-seat holding my breath at times.. and this time Julie, you’ve truly surpassed yourself. I also love your EOBS which is always interesting, brings insight and adds that personal touch too. So here’s to loose ends and new beginnings.. because I can’t wait to hear what delicious delights you’ve got in store for us next.

Prepare yourself

I could not get over the narrator, Tad Branson, who voiced Johnny. To me his voice did not match the character. I have no qualms with anything else but that.

Great Story!

I loved 🥰 Johnny and Megan’s story and all the little secrets they put together to show more about the WAY. I DID NOT like the male narrator chosen for this story! Johnny is supposed to be this huge scary guy and they chose a weasel voice for him. I was VERY disappointed.

I just can’t...

The last 2 hours of this book seemed so trite I got annoyed... tbh, I had to FF thru most of it and even rolled my eyes halfway thru the epilogue to where I left the last 20 minutes “unread”... It ruined the whole book for me in all honesty and I’m kinda annoyed by it.

I know adding to the drama factor for books like these are supposed to make it “suspenseful” to the reader, but it’s like rollercoasters: too many twists and turns can put people off on the verge of vomiting.

Bummer since the series and the book were fantastic until that point. Perhaps it’s just me and my ADD screaming at the author to “get to the effing point already!”

It is what it is. Sigh.

worst narration ever!!

I am struggling to finish this one. I had high hopes for Johnny's story but this is long winded in the worst way. Get to the point already.

Story is good, but Johnny.Leaving Now

He sounded like a weasel, I wish the narrator had a more strong voice, I had a hard time listening to him.

Really Great!

Bossy Johnny, 3rd book in the Bossy Brothers series. This was such a great story. We find out more info on what The Way (a secret organization) is up to and it’s definitely not good. Johnny meets Megan in a unique way and she has secrets. This book, as of all of Julie’s, has many twists and turns which always keeps you on your toes trying to guess what’s going to happen next and it’s always fascinating.

The narrator Savannah Peachwood was fantastic as Megan. Tad Branson as Johnny was wonderful as well. I especially loved when Johnny and others were in a helicopter. I thought it was interesting how Tad made the voices sound like they were actually talking through a headset. I don’t know how he did that but it made it so realistic. Both narrators shined in this audio.

Best story of the series

this was the best story of the series. it had espionage, intrigue and romance.
the audio left a lot yo be desired. the female voice was good but I really struggled to tolerate the male voice. That was a testimony to the storyline.
