It's not what you know but who you know that matters...and, indeed, how well you know them. The show is a bit like ‘Mr and Mrs’, except that it's not played by husbands and wives. Instead, panellists can pick anyone they like: dad, cousin, best friend, mother-in-law. What is Bridget Christie's worst fear? Or Ainsley Harriott's worst habit? Or Seann Walsh's worst gig? All these burning questions, and more, will be answered in this BBC comedy panel show hosted by Miles Jupp, where panellists are tested on how well they know their nearest and dearest.

Story
James Acaster wakes up heartbroken and alone in New York, his relationship over, a day of disastrous meetings leading him to wonder if comedy is really what he wants to be doing anymore. A constant comfort in James' life has been music, but he's not listened to anything new for a very long time. Idly browsing 'best of the year' lists, it dawns on him that 2016 may have been a grim year for a lot of reasons, but that it seemed to be an iconic year for music. And so begins a life-changing musical odyssey, as James finds himself desperately seeking solace in the music of 2016....

Story
In 1994, fledgling journalist Louis Theroux was given a one-off gig on Michael Moore’s TV Nation, presenting a segment on apocalyptic religious sects. Gawky, socially awkward and totally unqualified, his first reaction to this exciting opportunity was panic. But he’d always been drawn to off-beat characters, so maybe his enthusiasm would carry the day. Or, you know, maybe it wouldn’t.... In his book, Louis takes the listener on a joyous journey through his life and unexpectedly successful career.

Millennials have been celebrated and scorned; they’re the envy, fascination and disgrace of the world. But is there more to this #selfie- and avocado-obsessed generation that can’t grow up than meets the eye?

Story
When Jo Brand hosted Have I Got News For You late last year, her calm explanation of the effects of sexism on women to a bemused all-male cast turned into a viral phenomenon. There has been a whole tradition of books over hundreds of years where a father shares his wisdom with his son - started by Lord Chesterfield in the 18th century - while women have been silent (aka bullied into thinking their advice wasn't worth writing down). This book puts a stop to all that.

Listening to Joe Lynette is always time well spent
Joe Lynette is gently numerous with a tart centre. I wish I could put things the way he does. Putting wrongs in the forefront without drawing blood, well not too much. This has encouraged me to look out for more but, please not with Maddie Hickish. I am sure she is a pleasant person but she is so difficult to listen to. Sometimes I could only guess what she said by his response. Please don’t take this to heart Maddie, I have heard quite a few excellent actors who should never be asked to read as they rush their words, or only use a monotone. Joe Lynette could make this point so much better than me.

An entirely civilised chat
I'd expected a chat with Joe Lycett to be funny, because he does funny stuff. But I guess his style is more to do something silly, then write about it. What it feels like is an entirely civilised, unremarkable chat with a thoroughly pleasant person. He sums up his life as "grew up in Birmingham, had an alright life" - and that's pretty much how I'd summarise this interview. If you find yourself sat next to the chap on a train, rest assured he's easy to chat to. But with hindsight I'd have rather spent the time reading his book or watching his YouTube shorts (which are brilliant).
