I enjoyed listening to Verla Bond.

This a great fast listen, with humour and the right amount of steam.

Gwen Clark and her daughter's life is turn around and upside side down, when her husband not only leaves the country with his intern but also steals money from a foundation and also cleans out their bank account.

Gwen calls for help from her friend, lawyer Reade Walker.
Reade has been secretly in love with Gwen and a relationship blossoms. But the husband returns.....

This was a fantastic friends-to-lovers romance! Reade has always been in love with Gwen, but she’s the one woman he could never have—until now. When Gwen’s world falls apart, Reade steps in to help, and it was heartwarming to see them finally get a chance at love. The chemistry between them is off the charts, and I loved watching Reade become a father figure to Gwen’s daughter.

Verla Bond did a wonderful job narrating! Her voice was smooth and expressive, perfectly capturing the emotions and making each scene feel authentic.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely! If you love swoon-worthy romance with great characters, family dynamics, and a perfect happily-ever-after, this one’s for you. Tara September has become a favourite author of mine, and I’ll definitely be checking out more of her audiobooks!

Jesse’s girl is another hit with me from Tara September. I really like this author and her audiobooks.

Reade has always had a thing for Jesses girl. He never thought Jesse deserved her. Now Jesse has committed the ultimate betrayal Gwen needs help. At the centre of a scandal she’s desperate to escape, Reade finds he can’t do enough to find her a new home with him.

Gwen has a child and Reade soon finds he’s slipping into the life he’s always wanted. He can’t resist Gwen but can there change in relationship really work out when there is so much baggage.

I really like Verla Bond as a narrator. She has a smooth engaging voice. She reads this story so well.

Reade is a beautiful man and I like the way he safes the day even after all those years of thinking Gwen wasn’t his.

When Gwen’s world is turned upside down after her cheating husband, Senator Jesse Clark, embezzles millions and flees the country, she is left penniless and humiliated in their small town. Now a single mum, she dreads asking for help from longtime friend Reade Walker, even though he is the one man her heart desperately wants and craves. Meanwhile, Reade has hid his true feelings for Gwen all these years and so has kept his distance. But when he offers her and her daughter free legal support and accommodation, with the proximity, he cannot help but not stay away from Gwen. And this time, he vows to do whatever it takes to keep her and her daughter safe.

I really loved the romance in this. I especially loved Reades devotion to Gwen and you could also see his connection with Gwen’s daughter who also happens to be his goddaughter. I enjoyed their somewhat second chance romance. The small town vibes was also cute and sweet. The drama with Jesse was also entertaining. This was nice and short, and pleasant to read/listen to.

I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Verla Bond. Her portrayal of Gwen and Reade was on point!👌 She captured the emotions of each character and brought the overall story to life!
