Summary

Emma is super pretty, super smart, and super rich. So WHY is she kidnapping the billionaire she just bought in the bachelor auction?

Thirteen years before Emma Dumas bought me in a bachelor auction to teach me a lesson, she stole my heart down on Key West. I fell so hard for this girl, I made all the promises. Only with Emma, I really meant them.

And then I disappeared.

But it wasn’t my fault. Let’s just call my reason “Family Business”. I’d tell you what that business is, but then I’d have to kill you. Just kidding. I can’t tell you what my family business is because it’s so secret, even I don’t know.

My point is...I didn’t ghost. It was a weird twist of circumstances. And OK, yes. I did hook up with pretty much every girl on the island that week. But after I met Emma, I was ruined. She’s the only one I wanted.

It’s been 13 years. I’m a changed man. I STILL want her. I have ALWAYS wanted her.

But it’s kind of hard to tell her that with a gag in my mouth and a hood over my head.

Jesse features a bachelor auction gone wrong, four smart ladies who botch a crazy revenge kidnapping, a fancy power dream date with fast cars, private jets, and expensive yachts, lots of ex-sex, and a happily ever after that proves...sometimes the best man for the job is a woman.

Includes a special bonus note from the author.

Revenge blossoms into love

I enjoyed the storyline very much and the unusual twist regarding the whole Boston family kept me engrossed.
Plenty of laughs from the way Emma and Jesse constantly try to outdo each other. The narrators did an amazing job of bringing all the characters to life and I highly recommend this audiobook ❤

Fabulous new series!

I always know I can rely on JA Huss for a great read and listen. Her stories and characters always grab me from the start as do the audios as she always has such excellent narrators. I loved this the plot, Emma, Jesse and the rest of the cast, and have not been able to stop listening to the dulcet tones of both Ava Erickson and the always amazing Teddy Hamilton. Now, on to Joey 💖💖💖💖💖

CORNY! BORING!

Half way in and I'm not convinced it'll get better. Good writing, good narration, boring story - with nothing to look forward to past the 14th chapter.

Not my kind of story but it was ok.

I did not really feel this story. I did like the voices of the narrators though, so it was not a struggle to finish it.

Good

My view on audible is still up for debate, i prefer to read it than hear it, i think reading you get drawn in more, like the story, liked the characters and looking forward to the 2nd book whether that it via audible or reading I'm not sure yet.

Offended and confused

While the narration was well done and the story starts off interesting enough it falls flat. The characters are unevenly developed, and disjointed. I wanted to like the story so I listened to it fully. The female lead, Emma, was just offensive— rude, judgmental, privileged traits you would expect from the male lead, Jesse. She verbally berates him throughout the book and the opulence described is written from such a place of arrogant privilege that I found myself squinting and frowning for much of the listen. Sorry, I really tried to find redeeming qualities, but it is just a mess of a story. You don’t know who to root for— Jesse seems like a child man, Emma sounds like both an elitist and self-made person— just confusing. Nothing is congruent. I do not recommend though it seems like a possible gem at first glance.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS STORY

Oh Julie.. Julie.. Julie this was so damn good.. the loveable characters, the humor, the quick-witted banter, the well-paced plot build-up in its enemies-lovers, second-chance romance, the crazy fun one-upping.. and the OMG plot twist with its teasing part-revelation was all so unbelievably entertaining. And I loved the power dynamics between the successful, strong, spitfire of a super-rich heroine and the sweet and oh so sexy ex bad-boy billionaire hero.. and it was also a good introduction to the three handsome Bossy Boston Brothers. The chaotic crazy chemistry between Jesse and Emma sparked from every well-crafted chapter, the friends and family members enriched the storyline, the dual POV plot had sassy steam, passion and punch.. and the WTF unfolding mystery towards the end brought intrigue, angst and drama that’ll continue to build.

Worth a credit? It was ridiculous over-the-top fun, it was a unique and refreshing second chance, it was mayhem and madness but slowly evolved into so so much more.. and I absolutely loved every single minute of it. Teddy and Ava brought the characters and the heartwarming plot to life and they made it a 5 star creditworthy audiobook. The short EOBS (end of book sh't) Julie adds at the end of her books are always insightful and interesting too.

Bizarre

This storyline was totally bizarre and nonsensical. It made no sense. The narrators did a great job with this story that made no sense. Guess this series isn’t for me.

Again With This

The narration on this book was really good. The story, as weird as it is, didn't bother me because it's a different take, everyone is different and I've never read/listen to a story that's anything like this. My problem was the female lead, Emma, she was ridiculous. She wasn't in love with the guy, she was obsessed. Even when it came to his family secrets when she went to his place that first time, she was pushy and controlling. I mean if the guy was the one doing alllllll the things she did in the story, he would have been classified as abusive, manipulate and an all around bad guy who women should stay away from.
I get going outside the box, I get this being more fantastical versus being based in reality, but why was it necessary for Emma to be so pushy with Jesse with HIS own family secrets, when he was perfectly willing to be with her without knowing what his family was hiding from him his whole life.

Jesse: Bossy Brothers, Book 1

You will never go wrong with a JA Huss book! And while you could listen to the Bossy Brothers as a stand-alone- I recommend listening/reading in order. I’ve already read them several times - they are that good.

Billionaires, second chances, and then BAM there’s a entire new level of twisted plot. I loved Emma and Jesse’s story. Who doesn’t want a chance to get back at someone who’s hurt us? Just goes to show that our plans for revenge might lead to something completely unexpected.

JA Huss always nails it with the perfect narrators for each story and Teddy Hamilton and Ava Erickson are spot on perfection as Jesse and Emma. Terrific performance from both, bringing both the characters and story to life.

Fabulous

I don't think that JA Huss has ever written anything that I haven't love; she is an exceptional storyteller, and I absolutely adore her. The writing is spot-on, the characters are awesome. Emma and Jesse are amazing together, their connection passionate and sizzling, captivating the readers/listeners. The dialogue is brilliant, loaded with humor and quick-banter. True to Huss fashion, the plot is involved with great twits.

The dual narration by Ava Erickson and Teddy Hamilton is fabulous. They connect the audience with characters and the animation in the scenes, bringing the entirety of the book to life. This cleverly written story and very entertaining, and I highly recommend it.

Great characters, groping story!

I am a fan of Ms. Huss’s books and these series don’t disappoint. Great plot, likable characters (well, some of them), gripping mystery and all the stuff Julie is known for. Narrators are amazing and give book extra dimension

Witty and Smart

Jesse and Emma had a long history, although he didn't remember it right away. She was out for revenge. Although she may still have feelings. But what started as a revenge date at a charity auction, turned into a battle of wills over a weekend. Each vying to 'win,' although neither knows what winning really is.
At the same time, secrets about the Boston family and the Bossy building start coming out, secrets about Jesse even he doesn't know.
As the first in the series, it can serve as a stand alone, but there is an underlying story line that surely will be revealed as the series goes on.
Teddy Hamilton and Ava Erickson delivered excellent narration, both the funny and the sexy.
Totally worth a credit.
