A gentle pair of books in which one woman's voyage of self discovery results in a late found friendship of true strength and resilience.

Rachel finds that when her daughter leaves for college, she's lost. Her marriage isn't working and her work isn't fulfilling, except for her one friend in the nursing home where she works, Jasper.

With Jasper's encouragement Rachel joins a photography club, and meets Sadie. They become fast friends, and when Rachel's marriage finally ends, Sadie is there to help her pick up the pieces.

What follows is a rapid transformation over 2 books, where both Rachel and Sadie confront old hurts and step into new lives.

I found the stories a bit predictable at times, but enjoyed them overall. Nothing too challenging happened, and the ending was bit neatly tied off, but for a light holiday listen, it was fine. The narrator took some getting used to, but she used various tones and accents to differentiate the characters.

Jaspers Gift the sequal to Coming About. Another great book by Jan Tilley, wonderful narration by Kristina Rothe. I definitely recommend these audiobooks
