Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach, read by Julian Rhind-Tutt.

Now in splendiferous binaural!

Listen with headphones for a wondercrump audio experience that sounds like Roald Dahl's phizz-whizzing characters are in the room with you!

James Henry Trotter's parents have been eaten by a rhinoceros, so now he lives with his two repulsive aunts.

One hot day something peculiar happens and an enormous peach grows in their garden. Soon James and the Giant Peach are rolling away from his horrible aunts, towards a most marvellous and wonderful place....

Listen to James and the Giant Peach and other Roald Dahl audiobooks read by some very famous voices, including Kate Winslet, David Walliams and Stephen Fry - plus there are added squelchy sound effects from Pinewood Studios!

Look out for Roald Dahl apps in the App store and Google Play - including the disgusting Twit or Miss! - inspired by the revolting Twits.

Fantastic! - But listen to it through headphones!

This is one of my favourite Roald Dahl books that I enjoyed as a child in the 80s and enjoyed this just as much. Some of the reviews complain about the sound quality but they obviously ignored the first part of the book when it is explained that it is a binaural recording so must be listened to through headphones; you then get an amazing 3D stereo sound sensation. It sometimes sounds like the sound is moving around outside your head. Its a great book for all ages!

Roald Dahl at his best!

Just been reliving my childhood with this classic. Still as entertaining as it ever was.

An excellent story delivered beautifully.

We all know Roald Dahl was the master story teller. This is one of his best, and most famous stories, and Julian Rhind-Tutt does it great service with his performance here. He gives each character their own distinctive voice and reads with such enthusiasm you can't help but be lifted up by it. I thoroughly recommend both this wonderful book and this excellent audio book version.

Wow - the Binaural is amazing

Please use headphones for the full effect of this as it switches from ear to ear, my girls love it.

fantastic for grown ups too!

Don't judge me...!

After a few stressful weeks of work pressure building up and difficulty sleeping as a result we decided to try doing 'book at bedtime' for 15 minutes as we nod off to sleep.

It worked 😀.

Plus we got to relive our childhood memories of this terrific book.

It's legendary and lived up to our memories. brilliantly read and the narrator's voices were wonderful. the worm was our favourite character, we'd both giggle almost every time he spoke.

enjoy and sleep well 😉 XXX

Not amusing if you are not a child.

I have been curious to listen to a Roald Dahl book - and chose this one because it was offered cheap.

Being 40 year outside by childhood, I had expected at least to find the story amusing, but did not. Thus I am unlikely to choose the BFG or Chocolate Factory is they too are offered cheap.

A classic brought to life

A well narrated story that embodies all the adventure and wander I am sure Dahl intended.
