TWO CRIME FAMILIES, ONE SOURCE OF POWER: JADE.

Jade is the lifeblood of the city of Janloon - a stone that enhances a warrior's natural strength and speed. Jade is mined, traded, stolen and killed for, controlled by the ruthless No Peak and Mountain families.
When a modern drug emerges that allows anyone - even foreigners - to wield jade, simmering tension between the two families erupts into open violence. The outcome of this clan war will determine the fate of all in the families, from their grandest patriarch to even the lowliest runner on the streets.

Jade City is an epic tale of blood, family, honour, and of those who live and die by ancient laws in a changing world.©2017 Fonda Lee Action & Adventure Crime Thrillers Destansı Fantastik Epic Fantasy Kurgu Thriller & Suspense Gerilim Suç Hukuk

I just wish I had found this book sooner. Brilliant start to a trilogy. Great characters that you can invest in and story that grips you and dosent let go. The narrator is brilliant and brings the story to. Now straight on to the second book. I won't be disappointed

Absolutely Brilliant Story

Very good book set in a world not unlike our own . With a high stakes Godfather like vying criminal organisations locked in conflict . This and the modern setting makes a unique story well worth a read

Crime drama with fantasy elements

Excellent plot, world building and characters. If you enjoy crime dramas like Peaky Blinders then this is a must read.

Writing style is a bit "functional" at times, there isn't a lot of flavour to descriptions and often there isn't much subtely. Not a deal breaker but it does occasionally take me out of the story.

Narration is excellent.

Awesome crime drama

Wow, wow, wow.
I expected this book to be good. But not as excellent as it was!!!
Gripping action- checked
Complex three-dimensional characters-checked
Fantastic fight sequences checked (the author has a black belt in martial arts)
Interesting and fresh setting-checked
Great characters relationships -checked
Just give it a go, believe it will be great to the end and after the last minutes of the audiobook, you won't be disappointed.
The only thing that might not work for you is pacing- in some places, you will have to focus and see how characters figure out the next moves like in a game of chess. But if you live that as well then what are you waiting for!

Fascinating, gripping, unexpected, heartbreaking
