Summary

Assassins don’t retire; they reincarnate.

For nearly all of my life, I trained to become a master assassin, but at the height of my career, it all fell apart. I was betrayed, ambushed, and left bleeding out on the streets of London. Just before my death, though, I was offered a choice: Stay and let my life come to a swift and brutal end, or become the personal assassin of a god in another world. It wasn't a hard decision.

But this new world isn’t like the one I left. It operates by a completely different set of rules and a strange system that I don’t understand. I’m going to have to learn fast if I hope to survive in this land of myth and magic. All of my skills, and several new ones, will be put to the test as I receive my first contract. And new world or not, they have no idea who they’re up against.

Isekai Assassin is a fast-paced story set in a Gamelit dark-fantasy world, written by the best-selling author of the Wyvern Academy series.

A unexpected gem

I bought this book on a gamble and I think I won the lottery. A rich engaging story that once I started I had to limit how much I listened to else I would have finished it in one sitting. told from the assassins point of view as he adapts to a new world, And navigates the underworld. Wisniewski narration is on another level and really brings the world alive.

Really enjoyable Listen

Loved the idea of the top Assassin from Earth traveling to another world where it show's a his progression through the increase in stats. The world building and characters were also excellent and the narrator did a great job though a couple of characters were a bit jarring based on their description.

Would recommend this audiobook to anyone one envoy's light novels, can't wait for the next one!

I greatly enjoyed this book. I am looking forward to following this series as it continues. The voice actor also did a phenomenal job.

Isekai Dandy

More time is used describing the characters clothes and rooms and big arterial sprays of blood (not a thing) than actual fighting technique and situational plans of a seasoned assassin. MC easily overcomes all opponents by chocking or cutting throats or stabbing them in chest. Rinse repeat. Unlike most assassins MC wants people to see his face (really a seasoned assassin wants people to see his face?) Why have Litrpg system if it's not used? Progression system is briefly mentioned and system does not measure MC whose past skills are of an unknown level which basically overpowers MC out of the gate. MC can overcome any opponent just because. MC can infiltrate any place without planning. Just knock a few guards out and dress up in their clothes. No one is going to check even on high alert. Wish I could return this book.

So freaking good

This book was absurdly good! Excellent character development and exciting combat scenes. Just enough stats to keep you updated without bogging down the story. I love where this is going and I cannot wait for more!
