Summary
The go-to resource—now fully revised and updated—for building a healthy body image and making peace with food, once and for all.
When it was first published, Intuitive Eating was revolutionary in its anti-dieting approach. The authors, both prominent health professionals in the field of nutrition and eating disorders, urge listeners to embrace the goal of developing body positivity and reconnecting with one’s internal wisdom about eating—to unlearn everything they were taught about calorie-counting and other aspects of diet culture and to learn about the harm of weight stigma. Today, their message is more relevant and pressing than ever. With this updated edition of the classic best seller, Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch teach listeners how to:
- Follow the 10 principles of Intuitive Eating to achieve a new and trusting relationship with food
- Fight against diet culture and reject diet mentality forever
- Find satisfaction in their food choices
- Exercise kindness toward their feelings, their bodies, and themselves
- Prevent or heal the wounds of an eating disorder
- Respect their bodies and make peace with food—at any age, weight, or stage of development
- Follow body positive feeds for inspiration and validation
…and more easy-to-follow suggestions that can lead listeners to integrate Intuitive Eating into their everyday lives and feel the freedom that comes with trusting their inner wisdom—for life.

Must read book for EVERYONE
If you have struggled with body image and dieting then this is invaluable. This book has shifted so much for me, I wish I had read it earlier. I am recommending it to everyone I know, essential reading for individuals, parents, and friends.

Absolutely dire narration.
I could not listen to the narrator's voice anymore. Dull and soul less, like a robot.

I am so thankful I listened to this book!
This book has completely changed my view of eating! I had always wondered why I had such a dysfunctional relationship with food and this book explained why and practically explained how to change. This way of eating allows you to not restrict ANY food types like other plans but to develop a healthy relationship with food.

Great if you suffer from insomnia!
The reader has the type of delivery that sends one to sleep- literally. It’s monotonous!
The content is nothing special and is full of anecdotes that sound fake. I don’t like these little “real life” stores that appear in almost all American self help type books! Just give me the facts including evidence for it.

Sounds like a robot reading
The audio is horrible and sounds like a robot. Very difficult to listen to because it’s very monotonous. Can’t follow the content because it’s so hard to listen to. Will have to buy the actual book.

Useful tools
Sounds like a robot talking to you, even though it's all about intuitiveness. Wouldve nice to humanise it. The points were all good and some were a no brsiner

Makes some good points, irritating narrator
The book itself was ok. The principles make sense, but the book lacked practical ways to implement this and kept suggested you get an intuitive eating therapist.
The science bits were really interesting, but a lot of the points were laboured with case studies that were usually not helpful..."Skylar tried intuitive eating and now she has a better relationship with food". Just kinda pointless.
I really did not like the narration. The voice sounded a bit computerised.

This book needs to be mandatory in schools
A life long dieter, post-pandemic I’d come to intuitive eating naturally on my own. Listening to this book was so comforting, informative and life changing even with that. If all teenage girls (and boys) had access to this, we’d be in a much better societal state.

helpful overall. but some annoyance.
Good advice to focus your effort. didn't agree with the woke language and need to blame society for my issues.
