Wise is a good cop, a good man, with an evil brother. The difficulty of solving a crime with the spectre of his brother hanging over him makes this a fantastic story. I wait with anticipation for the next book in the series.

Outstanding read

This latest outing, whilst again expertly narrated and written, felt a little more low key than its predecessor. This is in no way a complaint and the story serves both to introduce new characters into the mix while dealing with the fallout from the last book.

The pacing moves along steadily and I would have liked to see a little more into the mind and history of the antagonist. I feel we are slowly building to a confrontation between the brothers that is going to be epic and can’t wait to see what happens next.

This is such an excellent book in the DI Simon Wise series by Michael Dylan.
Good story and of course the continuing anxiety about his brother - proper ‘omg’ moments and even biting my lip - especially at the end.
I am impatient for book 5 of course, and really hoping that his stupid DCI boss gets head butted & booted out.
Excellently narrated by Colin Mace.
Highly recommend this series.
