About this listen

Detective Sara Hirst has moved from London to Norfolk Police's Serious Crimes Unit. Under the brooding skies of North Norfolk, Sara faces her toughest case yet and finds that great beauty sometimes conceals great violence.

Too many secrets. Too much pain. Too many leads.

Dawn breaks as a dog-walker finds a dead body, half-naked and wrapped tightly in an old groundsheet.

Sara is first on the scene.

Who is the victim? And who will be next?

Sara must take on some of Britain's most wanted criminals if she's to find out the truth.

Contains mature themes.

Story is pretty good but the narrator leaves a lot to be desired.
I'm sure she will make a great narrator once she learns how to pronounce words like pupa, drawer, tarpaulin and silage (she sounds incredibly young too so would be better suited to kids books or young adult). She does have a lovely voice though and narrates with great tempo and enthusiasm.
Story was entertaining however so worth a listen.

Story is pretty good

I liked the story. It was important that it was set in Norfolk. So why not take time to get place name pronounciation right? Ali littered with so many standard words pronounced wrongly that it became intrusive

Good story. Horrible reading errors

if i hadnt enjoyed Judi's first book in the series i wouldnt have made chapter 2- the book is great, as ever, but the naration poor- i wish she'd just read it not gone for character voices- all the characters sounded like 6 yr old girls including the guys, unless they were meant to be tough when they reminded me of a certain french & saunders sketch! its another great novel tho

comical narration nearly did for me

Couldn't finish, the narrator does every voice like childrens television, feels like mockery of the story

Impossible to listen to this narrator

Story was ruined by the worst narration I have ever heard. I did finish but was tempted not to as the voices were buzzard to say the least.

Story ok but...
