Summary

Chaos is about to erupt.

During the aftermath of a massive solar flare that has plunged the country into the Dark Ages, Abram and Nick must prepare the compound against the growing bandit threat. But will earlier decisions sink their chances of survival and put those they love at risk of being annihilated?

A brewing danger is closing in.

As if the bandit threat wasn’t bad enough, an erratic stranger is closing in on Abram’s compound. But something is lurking beneath the surface of this man, who sees the collapse of society as the greatest opportunity of his life. Will the stranger swoop in at Abram and Nick’s weakest moment and seize control of the compound, or will he play with his prey first?

A few choices away from destruction.

As they find their days numbered, Abram, Nick, and the rest of the community at the compound are faced with crucial decisions that could help them survive the chaos - or send them to their eventual demise. In this new world, choices matter more than ever and make the difference between life and death.

Will they make the right choices?

Very good listen

I enjoyed the book a lot. It was I found a bit slow in places however. There was high drama in the final climactic battle which was excellent.

Just too short...

I liked the first book and this but a full credit for each seems crazy. As is the style in this genre it’s a split up series and is yet to be continued. The first two combined would make a perfectly sized book... and feel like I’d had value for my money. Very interesting plot and only a few mis-steps...

Did it again!

Just don’t start one of these books if you have an early morning shift. There’s no way to get any sleep once one is started.

Comparable to most good authors in preparedness fiction

This book is decent. He kept my attention and wanting more and looking forward to the third edition of this book. I wish though, that the author she thought about putting more educational material into the storyline for preparedness awareness. Overall four stars.

Tension Grows

"Instant Chaos" is in the upper eschaton of EMP survival series. It's clean, and the tension is taut. A group thrown together, not necessarily by choice, but learning to survive. And learning to. let others in. The second installment finds Abram, Nick, Shelly, Corey, and the others learning to trust those around them. Raiders are making their way around their compound, and they know there aren't enough people to fight off invaders. But after the debacle with Gary, trusting new people isn't easy. The stakes stay high throughout the book. But it's never outlandish or over dramatic. Just true to life. Russell and Holden are a great writing team, especially in this genre. Kevin Pierce makes the reader feel what the characters must feel at all times. The stakes are always fever pitch. But yet, he's the calm the reader seeks too. It's perfection. excellent writing and narration

this one is better than most and seems more realistic how it portrays the characters. it is easy to project yourself into the story. Kevin Pierce, narrator does an excellent job, as usual.

Very basic and no real build up for this story

I honestly think someone that has no real experience or did not do their research wrote this book. Its something to listen to so I will finish it but it is a predictable story line. The world ends as we know, prepper family goes to bug out location, bad people attack, they fight them off, so on and so on.
