Summary

Shepard Montgomery loves the feel of a needle in his hands, the ink that he lays on another, and the thrill he gets when his art is finished, appreciated, and loved. At least that's the way it used to be. Now he's struggling to figure out why he's a tattoo artist at all as he wades through the college frat boys and tourists who just want a thrill, not a permanent reminder of their trip. Once he sees the Ice Princess walk through Midnight Ink's doors though, he knows he might just have found the inspiration he needs.

Shea Little has spent her life listening to her family's desires. She went to the best schools, participated in the most proper of social events, and almost married the man her family wanted for her. When she ran from that and found a job she actually likes, she thought she'd rebelled enough. Now though, she wants one more thing--only Shepard stands in the way. She'll not only have to let him learn more about her in order to get inked, but find out what it means to be truly free. This is the prequel to the Montgomery Ink series.

It was ok

I enjoyed the story and the narrator was yummy brought the story to life but it just felt a little choppy. Like half the story was missing. Over all it was good.

Cute and Short

This is an interesting quick listen -- a good way to start a new series. I like the story well enough but it just felt like something was missing, too much was left out. Maybe the rest of the series will shed some light but I'm undecided if I'm going to listen to the rest of the series. I was intrigued by Shep and Shea and hope they will turn up in other books in the series. Gregory Salinas did an okay job as the narrator but the audio seemed a bit choppy.

It was worth the reduced price I paid. I will probably listen to other books written by Carrie Ann Ryan and/or narrated by Gregory Salinas.

Steamy romance makes for some great listening

Carrie Ann Ryan writes steamy romance. I’ve read a number of her books and enjoyed each and every one. I won an audio copy of Ink Inspired the prequel to the Montgomery Ink series and listened to it while on a plane headed to vacation. It is one thing to read a smoking hot love scene it is another to have a smooth sexy male voice describing every detail in your ears. I haven’t blushed so hard in a long time. I don’t know what my fellow travelers thought but I had a great time listening to Shep and Shea get together.

Yummy Smexy Series

Oh yeah!!! Give me a big burly tattoo artist any day of the week!!! Yummy!!! Sigh! I am all about this smexy book!

Really quick read with a great couple. Shea is more reserved on the outside but ready to break free, she needs delicious bad boy Shep to help her out!! They have a great dynamic and is is a really fun read.

The time jumps are a bit abrupt, I know it was a novella gotta keep it short. Still I would have loved spending more time with them.

This book certainly delivers on the smexy!!! Oh Hells yeah!! For a short read it packs one heck of a steamy whallop!

I listened to the audiobook narrated by the always yummy Gregory Salinas. He has a smexy voice that infuses the hawt scenes with even more heat! Great tone and pace throughout the read. I was not sold on the mom's voice, kind of grating, but then so was she.

Give me more!!! This is such a hot series, I need to read the rest of teh box set to get the scoop!!

Ink Inspired

The very beginning of a legacy. I have read, and re-read the Montgomery Ink series more times than I can count. With every new release since I first found the Montgomerys I start at the beginning all over again. Every single time I fall in love with them all over again and it all started with Shep and Shea. I always recall them as the quietest couple of this massive group, but I continue to have a soft spot for this book as it brought me to one of my favorite series and authors.

Great Story & Narration🎧 Captivating & Smoking🔥Hot

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is well written and well told with interesting storylines that grabbed my attention right from the start and held it straight to the end. Carrie Ann Ryan is a gift author, she creates stories and characters that are realistic and easy to relate to. This book is a prequel to her “Montgomery Ink” series and features their cousin Shepard “Shep” Montgomery, a tattoo artist at “Midnight Ink” in New Orleans. He was losing his love of the art but then enters Shea Little, she walked into him as he was walking to get coffee, when he returned to the shop she was sitting there waiting for a consult. I adored these two characters, there was great chemistry between them and it was like they met as each were facing their own crossroad in life. Shea was trying to get away from a controlling bitch of a mother and Shep was ready for some thing more in his life. I loved how everything plays out in this book, also love how much story Carrie Ann Ryan managed to fit into this novella sized book. There is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, great dialogue, some angst, twists and some hot romance. Thank you for this great story!

I listened to the Audible edition, Gregory Salinas is a fantastic narrator and voice artist. He does a great job portraying the characters and bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. He sets to the perfect tone for the story, includes a dramatic flair and all the characters emotions which is heard in his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen🎧

I was not expecting to fall....

Shep and Shea were strangers on the street. That was until she walked in to his tattoo shop and wanted something more. Shea was not sure what she wanted but she still wanted it. Ms. Prim and Proper meets Mr. Strong Sexy Alpha. They had chemistry from the start. The problem was she was not sure about who she was. He was going to help her find out. The ending was a bit quick for me but the rest of the story allowed for Shep and Shea to shine.

Gregory nailed it. He gave distinction and clarity with all the characters.

Just OK

Very short, insta-love, and an OTT “villain”.

OK for a quick, dirty (sex scene in each chapter) AE borrow. Not something I’d buy.

hmmm

I feel this book could have been a little more detailed and really wish it could have either had a different narrator or at the very least had a woman to read the womans part. The narrator wasnt bad for the males point of view but really killed the female character for me... really makes me not want to attempt to read or listen to any of the other books in the series which isnt like me because usually I get hooked and want to read a whole series at one time until I've heard everyone's stories...
