Love this author. Great story, very well planned plot … great characters too. Narration perfect.

I enjoyed this book. It was an unusual legal mystery and I want to say it didn't really take its self seriously with all the problems Sandy had with her client but it was a very involved case that I just loved.
It wasn't exactly a humours read but it was enough for at least an eye roll, if not chuckling. I enjoyed the court room drama and the two lawyers war of words but it was so much more than that. Especially as Sandi had to keep her client, an actor who plays a Lawyer on tv, in line, go up against her boss, find a mole in her team, dodge bullets, angry or in love fans and that's all while trying to find the real killer. Its the type of book with a lot going on and it had my gasping with surprise.
I liked the characters. Sandy was a great main character and while Patrick was the one that had me rolling my eyes, he sure made it interesting. I can't wait to check out the next book in the series.
When Sandi turns her back on criminal law she moves to LA to practice family law. However unable to keep quite in her first client meeting, that she is only supposed to be observing, when the client is arrest for the murder of his wife he demands Sandy be his lawyer. The problem is the client is Patrick McNabb an actor famous for playing a Lawyer on tv. Can Sandy get him to listen to her before he gets himself sent to jail? LA is famous for its entertainment industry and Sandy soon finds her life full of drama.
I liked the narrator. She did some great voices and I plan to listen to her again, especially as the next book in the series is on my wish list.

I suppose this can be called a cosy mystery - not too much blood and gore and nothing much by way of edge of the seat thrills. it has humour and a lightness of touch which makes it worthwhile.
