Summary

How do you turn your struggles into strengths? Beloved Bible teacher Sheila Walsh teaches listeners how the daily spiritual practices of confession, meditation on God's Word, and prayer result in fresh freedom in Christ.

In her long-awaited new book, Sheila Walsh equips women with a practical method for connecting with God's strength in the midst of struggle. From daily frustrations that can feel like overwhelming obstacles to hard challenges that turn into rock-bottom crises, women will find the means to equip themselves for standing strong with God. Using the spiritual applications of confession, prayer, and meditation on Scripture to form a daily connection to Jesus, women will learn how to experience new joy as a child of God who is fully known, fully loved, and fully accepted.

In In the Middle of the Mess, Walsh reveals the hardened defenses that kept her from allowing God into her deepest hurts and shares how entering into a safe place with God and practicing this daily connection with him have saved her from the devil's prowling attacks. Though we will never be completely "fixed" on earth, we are continually held by Jesus, whatever our circumstances.

On the way to being healed

No words can come to mind except thank you Sheila for writing this book. I’m the youngest of 6 kids and my parents split when I was 3 and I felt a lot of unworthiness, unwanted especially with my dad. He just passed away in 2017. And he had a whole other family. I’m writing a book about me and how I felt because I know I needed to be healed and you have helped in that process. So thank you.

It was good but...

I found so much of it to be of a repetitive nature. I would have enjoyed hearing about how her son and husband helped her. I became weary about mid way through the book. I did find her honesty refreshing.

A Godly Inspiration

This has been a book that brought a lot of emotions. It brought revalation, reminders and inspirations. When I first started reading, I wanted to stop because it seemed so depressing but I pushed through and saw God's victory in the midst of the pain. Keep listening it will be worth it.

Getting me through my mess.

Dearest Sheila, you have walked with me (inside my head and heart) since the beginning of my journey with Christ in 1983. The message in your music inspired my to run after Jesus with everything inside me. a nearly fatal accident, marriage, four children, and ministry, and I had the honor to be a talent liaison for Patsy Claimont and Luci Swindoll at two Woman of Faith conferences in Phoenix, Arizona. I greatly appreciate your transparency and authenticity. I am acknowledging my mess to empower other women to realize their self worth, embrace their identity, and unleash their destiny.

This is a great Bible study

This is also a very emotional Bible study. It’s worth the work but there will be tears my friend. I suggest a group setting so that you can share one another’s burdens and celebrate your victories.
