Summary

From Ed and Lorraine Warren, the demonologists featured in The Conjuring horror films, comes the story of the most terrifying case of demonic possession in the United States. It became the basis for the hit film The Haunting in Connecticut starring Virginia Madsen. Shortly after moving into their new home, the Snedeker family is assaulted by a sinister presence that preys one-by-one on their family. Exhausting all other resources, they call up the world-renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren, who have never encountered a case as frightening as this.

No one had warned the Snedekers their new house used to be an old funeral home. Their battle with an inexplicable and savage phenomena had only just begun. What started as a simple poltergeist escalated into a full-scale war, an average American family battling the deepest, darkest forces of evil a war this family could not afford to lose.

So spooky!!

Very well written and narrated. I love all things about Ed and Lorraine and although there wasn’t much mention of them in this book until near the end, it’s still a great read/listen.

Scariest ever

Amazingly scary story. Left me with a few questions. There are quite a few comments contained used by Lorraine that are also used within the Warrens films. And mainly if this is the true story it makes me wonder why it isn’t reflected in the film? Very scary and interesting after the initial slow start. But bare with it and it’s definitely worth it. Although I wouldn’t call it a story about “the Warrens”.

Fantastic and exciting

The story kept me glued. I feel sorry for the people that suffered in this haunting. The voiceover of the entity was performed very well. It increased my energy and helped me understand the immense power of these supernatural entities. It was exciting to listen to it.

Very graphic and scary! ( If true?)

This book I would recommend not only to Edd and Lorraine Warren fans but anyone who likes a good scare. The narrator manages to adapt his voice to accommodate the various characters within this tale which adds to atmosphere of the book. Listen with the lights on. This should be part of the conjuring saga of films.
