Winspear describes 1939 London (and several other locations) so masterfully you feel you are rushing through the capital's streets along Maisie in pursuit of truth and justice.
It's a classic Maisie Dobbs tale full of thrilling investigation, intelligent observation and impressive depth of understanding of the human spirit. Very enjoyable and most recommended!
